For the love of god, can you explain the combo Moltensteel Dragon + Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon ? how is it an insta win?

Thanks:)

Kenthris works like this. You activate scion and before passing priority you activate him again. The first scion trigger resolves and you turn him into moltensteel. With the second scion trigger on the stack, activate moltensteel's ability. Paying 10 life for +5/+5. Now the second scion trigger can resolve and you search for skittles. Here's the thing, the +5/+5 doesn't fall off. Now you have a 10/10 infect swinging for lethal.

this looks great and I love dragons but one particually

why in world is Sarkhan Unbroken not in the deck?

get the mega ability you just won the game

Because with 5 mana you can play Scion instead. Why play Sarkhan and then win 5 turns later when Scion wins the game the next turn?

Hmm I guess that's true if you get the Lightning gleves and atleast 2 mana from are artifact

And also cards to resurrect dragons.

So yea that tops that.

If you're not on a budget, Liliana of the Veil works great in this deck, since you have Bloodghast to discard and then bring back. +1 upvote. Any advice you could give on my deck would be welcome as well Mono-Black WINNING. Thanks in advance!

joebrannan1: I'm not sure if you're joking, but in no way is this deck a budget deck haha! Liliana of the Veil is an okay card, but not very useful in this deck.

I'm currently playing Sun Quan, Lord of Wu in your deck and testing it as a second Non-Dragon Creature. Worked out fine the times I played it, especially in Multiplayer where matches could take a bit longer.

The deck is extremely well put together, and hope you don't mind if I use this as a pallet for my Scion EDH. I do have a question though. How has Exploration played? In playtesting your deck (to try it out) it seemed underwhelming and I never really cared to see it.

Also a possible win condition I'm somewhat surprised you don't have in the deck is Karrthus of Jund and Living Death. If someone realizes what your deck does and just targets you completely, you can just put as many dragons into your graveyard then board wipe (somewhat) and get all of them back with haste. Have you tried that combo before and it didn't work? Did you not include it on purpose?

Lastly, a land I believe should be considered is Command Beacon. Somewhat back to the point I made above, but if someone just does nothing but target your Scion you can use Command Beacon to put it into your hand to cast it for 5 instead of 11 or 13 (if it got to that point). Isn't colored mana, but I believe the ability is definitely worth a card slot.

Sorry if you've already answered these questions. I see you have a very high score on the deck with enough updates to clear A LOT of comments. Love the deck man. Powerful, balanced, and of course...Dragons!

The Karrthus + Living Death can be a legit combo. In my opinion that combo only works when you screw up a Niv-Mizzet + Curiosity.

June 10, 2016 6:45 p.m.

Pheardemons: Thanks for the comment! I'd be flattered if you used my deck as a pallet

Exploration, I'll admit, is a bit lackluster. Its mostly leftover from the days of running Primeval Titan and other mana accelerators. I just haven't had anything worth replacing it with, in my opinion.

Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund + Living Death is a volatile combo, when used properly. However, I don't believe I have the Dragons to run it effectively anymore. I've slowly been reducing the amount of dragons to lower the chance at drawing them, preferring to use them more as combos.

Command Beacon seems like a very useful card. However, I'm hesitant about adding any more lands. At 40+ mana sources, adding more would only make it more over flooded.

Thanks for the compliment! Good luck in your Scion endeavors!

If drawing dragons is that much of a problem have you considered Scroll Rack? It helps put them back on your library, and is rarely a dead draw being that you can set aside unwanted cards (dragons or not), to draw. Possible exchange for Exploration if your looking for one.

Absolutely awesome Deck! I considered myself to built a Scion EDH and stumbled upon this hell of a winning Deck. Great Job!!Will definitely use it for some inspiration. +1 for that! How about Wheel of Sun and Moon or Elixir of Immortality for this Deck? That way you can use the really usefull dragon abilities over and over.

Why are you running Yosei, the Morning Star? I'm assuming you will never send Scion to the graveyard instead of the command zone, so Yosei's ability will never trigger on him.

Why Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius?

ScrOuch says... #15

@shermanido37: hope, it's okay for you if I answer your questions.

Yosei is a combo piece. It works really nice together with Feldon of the Third Path. if you have feldon on the battlefield, you can use scion to get yosei into your graveyard and use feldon to get yosei onto the battlefield, where he will be sacrificed trigger.

And Niv-Mizzet can be used with the Animate Dead + Worldgorger Dragon combo to shoot an infinite amount of damage and he also helps you to draw cards if necessary. Personally, I prefer the combo together with Shivan Hellkite. So I won't lose in a multiplayer match by being not able to draw anymore.

ScrOuch: Thanks for answering for me! And now to address your questions.

Wheel of Sun and Moon isn't in the deck because I sometimes want my Dragons in the graveyard. Elixir of Immortality is a nice card, but not very reliable recursion. I much prefer Volrath's Stronghold.

Good luck in all your Scion endeavors!

Hi everyone! Thanks again for supporting the deck! I updated the deck Primer. Please take a look if you have a chance! And, as always, please drop me a comment letting me know how it is!

Great to have an explanation for every single card in the deck! Good job. Now I feel bad for replacing some of them. :/ :D

FAN-FREAKEN-TASTIC! I think your updated Primer is every well done! I know how much work goes into something like this, seeing that I have done something similar on my Primer. I want to add more pictures on my list to give it more flash, I just need to learn how to do it to the same quality that you have yours. One thing I would recommend is putting in some accordions or something in order to condense your Primer for returning viewers. The full list makes for a lot of scrolling lol. Even if you just add one that would be great:).

I am also still not sure why you run the Imp... you likely hear this a lot... You even describe it as "Good sometimes"... But situational cards are normally not what you want to be playing. But maybe you can convince me that I'm wrong. When is this card good enough to take up a spot in such an amazing deck?!

June 26, 2016 10:59 p.m.

VexenX: There, man! I added panels, and I also placed the pictures under the panels. Should make it a lot more reader friendly. Much less scrolling.

I also added a bit longer explanation for the stupid Imp haha. I agree, it's completely out of place. However, until someone makes a Dragon based card with CMC with a built in discard engine, it has to stay.

July 5, 2016 5:16 p.m.

VexenX: So, if I'm reading that correctly, say my opponent targets Scion of the Ur-Dragon with a Vindicate. In response, I transform in to this new Mirrorwing, and the opponent procedes to destroy every creature on their side of the board? If that's how it is going to work, I'll be splooging my pants. Haha!

I need one in foil...

Russian foil...

Altered Russian Foil...

This might become my favorite dragon of all time when used with Scion's ability...
