tkizzle: Sarkhan Unbroken is a decent planeswalker in other decks. Since I'm not running a Dragon swarming deck, he's largely unnecessary.

I'm going to assume you mean the rest of the block, Khans - Dragons of Tarkir. There were some good cards from the sets. The cards I mainly kept are the Dragons with Hexproof. Before the Tarkir block, the only way to protect Scion would be to have some form of external Shroud in the form of equipments or Quicksilver Dragon. Now there's an additional 3 Dragons that can protect him.

There's a nasty little combo in the form of Dack's Duplicate + Enduring Scalelord , where you make infinite +1/+1 counters, but it was cut out of the deck when I was trying to streamline it. Feel free to try it out though. You might have better success that I did.

how is patriarchs bidding not in all scion decks, even if other cards have a lower cmc like [unburial rites] for 5 mana, but with the lands your recommending, no way enough mana is an issue, and scions graveyard would trump anyone elses , id about bet my house on it. i just find it to be a sweet card for a scion deck , along with [aetheticism], [volraths shapeshifter] and [dragon arch]. however, im gonna still go with your suggestions because i know you have tested this build for over a year and have experience playing with it, i might just use a few of the cards i mentioned to replace the more expensive ones from your build. anyhow love your help thanks again

tkizzle: Patriarch's Bidding helps your opponents too much, simple as that. At higher levels of play, you really want to avoid potentially reanimating 3+ of your opponent's creatures for them.

Not to mention this deck isn't designed to swarm with dragons, it's a combo deck. So there will be less dragons than you think and they're not all combat heavy ones either.

like i said im sure you tested this and theres a reason behind all of it, thats why im going with all your recommendations besides a few simply cause i dont have a few extra thousand to spend i have purchased all non land cards except 2 of the artifacts which im sure ill be getting too, you saved me alot of time. do u know of a thread to help with your attack phase to put these combos together, ? thanks

As for testing, I'll have to default to MrAwesomeSocks for that.

If you have questions about the deck you're building, the best thing you can do is put a list together so people can help you on there. As for forum threads, you'd have to check or start your own.

im surprised that ur not runing the artifact dragon statues that count as lanf an can also be turned into a creature. and should get tri lans they can count for 1 of 3 colors most of tiem they might help you alot also.

Spoosky: Thanks for the comment! My meta is constantly changing, due to my playgroup, myself included, constantly changing decks to keep things interesting. This deck just happens to be my absolute favorite, but I have 11 other decks on me when I want to switch things up.

And yes, Feldon of the Third Path + any of the Kamigawa Dragons is pure shenanigans. My favorite is still Feldon of the Third Path + Yosei, the Morning Star .

I'm not sure what dragon statue you're referring to. Do you have a link of some sort?

Also, I have stated this plenty of times before, but I hate using any land that comes into play tapped. Slowing yourself down for 1 turn is a nice way to delay yourself while allowing other players to establish their board position faster than you.

MrAwesomeSocks I think he is referring to Atarka Monument, Silumgar Monument, Ojutai Monument, Dromoka Monument, and Kolaghan Monument

To answer your question SgtBeanz, I would not run them. They're three cost mana rocks, which aren't too bad, but there are better alternatives. They would add a nice flavor to the deck, but overall not worth it.

Do you mean lands like Arcane Sanctum or Frontier Bivouac. As a Scion player, those lands are too slow. I would almost rather run Guildgates and have a Maze's End toolbox to compensate for the speed.

Hey VexenX! Yeah, besides the ABUR Duals and a couple random cards :( I will never get my Duals altered. Probably not the Volrath's Stronghold either. Oh well. I like to just take out the deck and stare at it in my free time lmao!

Maybe Modern Masters 3? Both of those cards are in DIRE need of a reprint. I think each of their foils are over $100 at this point.

The trick with the Duel lands is if you really want them altered just buy them like that in eBay. Artists get heavily played copies and alter them so that you can only see damage if you take the card out and look on the back. They are generally a lot cheaper then the normal copies too. This way you keep your duals to use elsewhere!

I will be shocked if not at least one is in MM3, but I fully expect both in there. But who knows, it might be in Conspiracy 3, Berserk, Burgeoning, and Show and Tell kinda broke the mold lol
