Honestly, this deck isn't really that flash. It is good, I guess, but you need more creatures. You also need to focus more on just one or two things, rather that everything - you've stuff like reanimation, then more-land stuff. It's just all over the place.

euananddalesaccount: why does the deck need more creatures?

euananddalesaccount: By suggesting that I need to add more creatures and that the deck has no focus, you clearly do not see the big picture with this deck. This isn't a Dragon swarming deck. I don't win with petty damage. I combo off for the kill.

Maybe next time you should have a glance at the Primer before commenting?

i really like this deck, i try hard to combo off, but first need scion, second you need to have the cards u need in your library or on the board, it doesnt always come together, but its still a bad ass deck ive made people retire from magic useing it, im just haveing a hard time winning 4 man pods in a competitive format, ussually because everyone knows what scion can do so hes the first to go

actually 2 of my last 3 games maybe even 3 of 3 i lost because some cheeseball combo i never knew about . but i firmly;y believe i had the best deck at the table and if i knew of those combos i could of prevented them with one of many removal spells, so i chalk it up to my lack of skill

divinagon: Moonveil Dragon is unnecessary when using the Moltensteel Dragon + Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon combo. And even with Doublestrike, Atarka, World Render doesn't make Skithiryx lethal in one swing.

Wait, does Scion of the Ur-Dragon stack the copies?

October 22, 2016 1:49 p.m.

enpc says... #9

While Scion isn't a copy of another dragon, you can activate his ability more than once. While he losses the ability once he copies a dragon, if there's more than one of his ability on the stack it still cycles through.

But why no Living Death?

Are you gonna add the new dragon from C16 that lets you wheel of fortune out of your gy? Seems like a great fit here. 5 mana to wheel eot, you untap with a fresh 7. Helps your dig for your combos a bit better too :)

Love it. I couldn't even be mad losing to this since I'm experiencing Death by Dragons.

Quick question though. Since The Kamigawa dragons need to go to the grave for their effect to go off; if one were to turn Scion into one of them, would he have to go to the grave instead of the command zone? Just curious. You have some recursion, so it isn't a huge deal either way.

imperium0214: The Kamigawa Dragons do require that they go to the graveyard. That can be a bit problematic, but yes, I have plenty of recursion. Sending Scion of the Ur-Dragon is a small price to pay for a near game ending effect.

rockleemyhero: I'm definitely debating it. I'm just not 100% sure yet. Will have to do lots of play testing.

Possibly swap some of the reanimation spells for enchantments such as Necromancy and Dance of the Dead for added redundency with the Worldgorger Dragon combo. Other than that there aren't any changes that jump out at me, just changes for personal preference.

I took this deck apart a month or so ago, tonight I put it back together, I missed it

December 2, 2016 5:51 a.m.

JonnyIV: I 100% agree with what you're suggesting, but I have a horrible answer that makes no sense and I'm an idiot: "Necromancy and Dance of the Dead don't come foil."

Stupid, I know haha. Hopefully one day I'll get over that.

December 2, 2016 10:36 a.m.

tkizzle: I'm sure the deck missed you too. Any particular reason you took it apart in the first place?

wasnt getting first place in my league as often as id like, but after trying other decks i think this one gives me the best chance, i just have to play it right and learn the combos others will use so i can shut them down

OK stupid question, can you transform scion into something with haste and swing the turn he enters the battlefield if you have the mana to do so, and would you recommend this if can

December 2, 2016 5:29 p.m.

tkizzle says... #22

AFTER MORE THOUGHT I THINK IT WOULD BE BEST TO not transform him the turn he comes in but save the mana in case someone trys to remove him then transform him

My last league match I took out the best player with the moltensteel skittles combo, he was so pissed , I probly should of killed someone else first but I ended up dieing next, leaving myself vulnerable after the kill, live and learn I guess

Can you attach curiosity to scion to do the combo then turn scion into Niv mizzet or would the enchantment not go on transformation

Man great, great deck! +1

Also I don't have budget for karn or the replacement you suggest, ugin. What would you recomend instead? I was thinking either All Is Dust or Scour from Existence.
