Fair enough. Well if you can ramp into it, Rise of the Dark Realms is like a better version of it (albeit for 4 extra mana). And then you get all the things!

I do like that idea better. Steal all the things! Lol.

I still say this deck has enough ramp to support Rise of the Dark Realms 9 CMC is not that much for EDH. just toss Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund into the GY and cast "rise", attack with a mess of hasty dragons, that's gg.

I was typing my comment when you guys said all that... "jinx!" :)

If you're goingto put Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund into the deck, you need to run Homeward Path. One Phyrexian Metamorph and your deck gets wrecked.

never thought of that... however the only time he really hits the field is when you mass reanimate and kill everyone. in my scion deck I just mill him into the GY before my turn some time, just to put him there. and there he sits until BAM!!! eat 8 huge dragons all with haste and double strike and I get 2 attack phases! GG suckers!
so the only way that would be a threat is if they have Leyline of Anticipation of something and cast it as a mean hater jerkface clever response to a resolved Rise of the Dark Realms

That or Fog your out then clone it :P But yeah, if Karrthus is in your deck, make space for homeward Path. Same recommendation goes to anybody running Sliver Overlord as their general.
Also, it there any reason you're not running any basic lands?

I never ran basics. It's always been the pain lands, then shock lands, and eventually ABUR duals.

It just limits the kind of ramp you have access to. That and Blood Moon. But thats fair enough. Why so many signets though? wouldn't you be better off running things like Gilded Lotus / Coalition Relic, etc...?

I use the Signets as my "colorless ramp." Especially in the face of Blood Moon. And the Signets are only two cost for colored mana. I love them.

Scourge of Valkas may not be worth it for the pure combo -- but is it not worth it altogether?
Consider Wake the Dead or Dragonmaster Outcast

skyshadow731: Thanks for the comment! I don't really need the filter lands. I have each shock and ABUR dual, which really rounds out my mana base. The fetches can also search for those lands, whereas a fetch can't search out a filter land. Thank you for the suggestion, though!
And also, Command Tower is already up there.

illumfolly: Thanks for the comment!
Scourge of Valkas really does nothing for my deck without Rite of Replication, as I rarely have more than 1 dragon out at a time. I dislike Wake the Dead since I need to sacrifice them at the end of turn. Dragonmaster Outcast, however, seems like a fun little card. I'll see if I can make space for it.

Really cool deck. You might want to put in Crucible of Fire, though. By the way, sorry if I accidentally disliked this, I accidentally pressed some buttons.

Maybe you can swap out Moltensteel Dragon for Atarka, World Render? It's still lethal if you hit Atarka and Skithyrix (Infect + Double Strike), but I feel Atarka adds more to the overall theme by letting all your dragons Double Strike, whereas Moltensteel feels more like a mana sink / potential life sink.

Meep3278:Thanks for the comment! Crucible of Fire is a great card. Unfortunately I run into the problem of only being allowed 100 card slots. There's nothing in the deck currently that I would be willing to take out for it, either.

Visage_EDH: Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon cannot kill even with Double Strike, as it only has a power of 4. However, Atarka, World Render is still an amazing card that I want to have in this deck. It's just highly unlikely that I'll be taking out another Dragon for it.

What about Whip of Erebos ?
CAn be fetched by Enlightened Tutor and Academy Rector. Recursive dragons, a nightmare...

Marenkai: Thanks for the suggestions! Whip of Erebos is a good idea! My only issue with it is exiling my dragons after they've been reanimated. If I wanted to continuously revive my dragons, I'd rather use Teneb, the Harvester.
February 23, 2015 10:30 a.m.
True.
But Lifelink is a powerful way to stay alive too.
February 23, 2015 10:50 a.m.
But in EDH gaining life does nothing against commander damage. So it only helps sometimes.

I've always been iffy about Living Death. I never liked allowing my opponents to reanimate something as well.
