for five color, I'd recommend Kodama's Reach or Cultivate over Skyshroud Claim

Macharius5622: But Skyshroud Claim grabs all of your green shocklands, while the other two only get you basic lands.

VexenX this deck isn't super heavy in double green and skyshroud claim requires you to have green already, as well as 4 mana. I'd rather be using a turn 3 ramp spell which also helps to get around a later blood moon player as well. Skyshroud claim is great in 3 or even 4 colour decks especially if they're green heavy, but I wouldn't love it here.

Hi, really well put together deck!

I noticed you have karthus which against a dragon tribal may not be the best option since if it gets stolen then it's pretty much a scoop.

May I suggest putting in dragon's arch instead for cheating creatures in for 2.

I second MadDogLai, Karthus is a way way too risky play in Dragons that gives you minimal benefit without a sarkhan ultimate. You also have dragonlord kolaghan in the deck for exactly that purpose.

Really like your deck! :)

I have 2 dragons to suggest that both put in a lot of work in my version:

Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury: The power boost he gives to each dragon for each dragon attacking is insane. The dash ability is nice when using him and his anthem effect as a finisher.

Dragon Broodmother: Similar to Scourge of Valkas, the triple red casting cost is a bit gross, but she performs really well. Her dragon tokens during every player's upkeep combos well with Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, Kindred Discovery, Utvara Hellkite, and all the Fate Reforged "whenever a dragon attacks". She also just provides chump blockers to help buffer against retaliation strikes.

In terms of what to cut...perhaps Skyline Despot? You're running enough other card draw and giving yourself the monarchy just gives people an extra reason to attack you. Is it worth the 7 drop spot? Also , maybe Karrthus as others have suggested. I'd be scared of some black deck killing him and then reanimating him stealing all your dragons! That may be more of a concern depending on meta. My meta loves graveyard shenanigans like that.

How does this compare to the C17 Ur Dragon pre-con in terms of preformance, speed, ect? I am curious to know if you have played this IRL or run playtests.

If you haven't, I will see if I can find time to play this deck vs the C17 Ur dragon out of the box in a playtest, I have the decklist for the precon deck.

The main reason why I ask this is that I own both the c17 pre con ur dragon deck, as well as many of the cards shown here that are not in that deck. So I will be considering modding to match this deck if the preformance is substantially better.

Hi Vexen, I would remove Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund, a simple clone of an opponent can steal all of your dragons so if I were in you I would change it ...

AioriaxWingz: Hey man! Thanks for the upvote! Did you see the Zacama, Primal Calamity decklist that I linked above? It is not really a tribal deck, but a HUGE dino leads it! It does include quite a few dinos though!

Lets just hope Dominaria or Core Set 2019 has Dragons.... haha

Love the deck! Noticed you don't run any artifact or enchantment removal. There are a lot of artifacts and enchantments that can really mess up your game plan. And running 5 colors you should be running a couple. I recommend Krosan Grip, Return to Dust, and Sylvan Reclamation.

Oh and I also realized you have most if not all the fetch lands. Crucible of Worlds definitely should be in this deck. Does a lot of work here.

As well as Sunbird's Invocation this card is like a second Lurking Predators during your turn, and with all the big spells in this deck, we will always be hitting something good

This is a great deck man! Been playing it for the past 2 months and I have had a blast doing so! I originally ran this exact list but have made a few changes to my liking and was hoping to hear your opinion on them.

-The first change I made was Greater Good for Elemental Bond. I like both cards in this deck as well as the synergy with Elemental Bond and token creation this deck has but found Greater Good to be a bit more fun. Sense playing this deck I have encountered a lot of players who like to wipe my board or highly target my dragons. I think of this card as "protection" and a "benefit" in a sense for these situations, especially when you can get it out early game. Greater Good is also really powerful when paired with Patriarchs Bidding, which involves my second change. Of course you also have the choice to discard more dragons into the graveyard with Greater Good's second effect. Doing so just makes Patriarchs Bidding even more of a game over, and when you are bringing back Karrthus Tyrant of Jund or Dragonlord-Kolaghan, the scoop rate is pretty high right now!

-The second change I made was Living Death for Patriarchs Bidding. Although with Living Death your opponents could possibly benefit from this card more than Patriarchs Bidding but I like the how Living Death is a board wipe as well as return. Living Death to me is even more powerful when paired with Greater Good. Sacrificing your dragons with Greater Good and discarding as many as you can at the same time then popping off a Living Death wiping your opponents board, bringing back WELL over 10 dragons with haste and all there ETB/Attacking triggers. Scourge of Valkas is also game over when brought back with this combo, which involves my third change. Same with Dragon Temptest out...or both for double kill!

-The third change I made was Scourge of Valkas for Skyline Despot. I don't find paying the three red for Scourge of Valkas painful. The situation of me not being able to pay the three red is quite rare. I find Skyline Despot a little slow and like the more aggressive route with Valkas, which is more my style. Plus with the multiple ways of cheating dragons out in this deck, I say Scourge of Valkas is a worthy and very powerful card for this deck.

-The fourth change I made was Cavern of Souls for Commander's Sphere. I put Cavern of Souls in because I like running an even amount of lands in my decks as well as being able to take away my opponents counter play. With Dragonlord Dromoka in the deck as well, even better, allowing your game changing dragons to hit the field more often against control players.

Let me know what you think of these changes. Look forward to hearing from you if you still reply to comments!

I would probably add in 1 or 2 lands, pain lands work well and don't break the bank.

January 13, 2019 11:42 p.m.

Considering I play in a group where 1 or 2 players may have Glacial Chasm or other lands such as Maze of Ith or Kor Haven , I would consider having a land such as Strip Mine . I would also consider Insult for a finisher and could also be used if you play in a group where Fog effects occur often.

Awesome deck though! I've been looking for a good source of inspiration to create a Ur-Dragon deck.

This deck needs some of th e new cards:

Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner - 1 mana ramp, 1 vigilance and lot's of card draw
Sarkhan, Dragonsoul
Sarkhan, Fireblood
Sarkhan the Masterless
Primevals' Glorious Rebirth - almost all dragons are legendary
Colossal Majesty - cards for days
Rhythm of the Wild - against those pesky count
Chromium, the Mutable
Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma

So, below is a list of cards I am considering adding. Thank you Struyk for some ideas! I am not a fan of the Sarkans though. None of them are really good enough to make the deck. Let me know what you think about the list, and what you think I should cut from the deck!

May 30, 2019 7:11 a.m.

Hey VexenX,

What is the current list you are playing? I don't see Morophon on the list.

Hope you got the The Ur-Dragon promo!

Cool deck and thanks.
