Good call. My buddy just got a box of RtR, maybe he'll open one I can trade from him.

What's wrong with Malfegor ????

He doesn't do anything when I make Scion of the Ur-Dragon shapeshift into him.

ah thats an ETB trigger. Still would be good as a dragon alongside Scion.

And considering I already have him, he'd be good for me.

I also have a Scion deck and mine has more graveyard to battlefield abilities so you can Scion into Teneb, Reanimate Teneb and then return all the creatures from the graveyard you use Scion on back to the field using Teneb which will use ETB effects better.

I have a scion deck and I use Sarkhan Vol instead of Garruk Wildspeaker

i will point out the scion, of the ur-dragon's ability will NOT trigger ETB's because scion is already in play when he becomes a copy.

Yep, that's why I don't have any ETB dragons besides Bladewing the Risen and Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund (because they're just that great).

The reason I don't use shuffle-in effects is because I'd rather use reanimation to get more uses out of the things I tutor into the graveyard.

I did think about the possibility of Conspiracy tricks when I was first building the deck, but then decided I didn't want to go in that direction.

Thanks for the comments though!

Ha! If you had come by a few weeks ago you would have seen her in here. I can't remember what I switched her out for but I should probably get her back in, for the tutoring at the very least. Thanks for the comment.

Have Cavern of Souls , Scapeshift , and Chromatic Lantern ever hit your radar?

How about the vivid lands?

Rhadamanthus says... #20

They're just a little too slow for how I want this deck to play. ETB tapped lands can get in the way of a lot of different things I'd rather be doing in the first 4-5 turns.

As a 5 color commander don't you think you should be running Command Tower ?

September 30, 2013 1:26 p.m.

Rhadamanthus says... #22

I should, but I don't have any available right now. I only build out of what I have in my physical collection, and the second I get another one it will be going in here.

Why not use Draco or the Invasion dragons (Treva, the Renewer , Darigaaz, the Igniter , etc)?

October 7, 2013 1:23 p.m.

Rhadamanthus says... #24

Draco is just kind of boring, at least to me. I used to have a few of the Invasion dragons in here but their abilities weren't exciting enough for me to want to keep them.

This deck seems amazing though I'd recommend kokusho and the other dragons so that you get even more bonuses if they actually do manage to kill scion. Dragons are amazing though and this seems really fun. +1.
