Plan on creating a Dimir Control deck that costs less than $100, give or take some. Keep in mind that the cost on the right isn't actual incart price obtainable.
WIN CONDITIONS
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver can steal opponent's stuff and make it your own. Very good PW, and really good here.
Pearl Lake Ancient May go 2 of these and 2 Prognostic, but for now, 1 and 3 respectively. Huge bomb that can protect himself at will. I can also return the "Refuge" lands to regain some life when I bounce to protect him.
Prognostic Sphinx Auto-include for Blue looking for a finisher. His Hexproof at will dissuades any targeted removal, he sets up draws and his damage is evasive. Solid, cheap card, exactly what I want.
CONTROL PACKAGE
Despise
is our hand hate. Preemptively deal with anything that'd need to be dealt with later and may require more resources. Too cheap to not include.
Hero's Downfall Because it's Hero's Downfall. Duh.
Murderous Cut Wanted more on-board direct removal. Found what I wanted.
Silence the Believers More on-board hate, with preference to the late game, which hopefully we live to see. 2-4-1 is always good.
Bile Blight
and Drown in Sorrow both help us get to that aforementioned late game, removing early threats cheap and dealing with weenies with ease.
Finally, our removal package, Disdainful Stroke and Dissolve. Disdainful is great, especially since midrange is all over the place and Control has a hard time with them. A not mana-intensive 2 mana counter is just what we need to fight them. The other is just standard scry counter.
OTHER
Jace's Ingenuity
Instant speed assured card draw.
LAND
Rather simple. I would obviously love fetches, since they not only fuel delve but mana fix, but I can't afford them quite yet.
