Another great card is Generator Servant. It gives you two mana, so there's a possibility of T3 Atarka with HASTE :O

January 11, 2015 2:33 p.m.

@Kralijina101T1 forest, elvish mysticT2 mountain, generator servantt3 (land) tap 3 lands, mystic, and blow up G.S. for a total of 6 mana.....you are 1 mana short of an atarka...explain what your method is?

@TrexWantsHighFives:On T2 get another Elvish Mystic. There aren't big chances for it, but it's possible. And 6 mana isn't bad, too.

Oh ok. Yeah fair enough.

I'd personally make these changes:

+1 Voyaging Satyr / -1 Elvish Mystic

Untapping a land is much more valuable than adding G to your mana pool imo, because you can use cards like Market Festival to get 3 mana per 1 Voyaging Satyr.

+3 Market Festival / -2 Frontier Siege, -1 Crucible of Fire

It sounds like you're mainly using Frontier Siege for the ramp, so why not add a card that does that better? Also, 4x Crucible of Fire is a bit overkill imo. In my experience, 1 Crucible on the field is usually enough.

Hope I helped! :D

I dont know if this would help out the deck but you could add maybe 2x Shockmaw Dragon and 1x Bow of Nylea. You could swing and clear their board.

I like the deck quite a bit. have you considered using Courser of Kruphix? at that rate, you could also look into playing Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, another Voyaging Satyr, and possibly adding in Chandra, Pyromaster to increase the devotion you can build up.

I highly recommend mainboard Xenagos, the Reveler. He can put out your dragons nice and early, and can be a straight win condition with hasty satyrs. Ramping into him then just turn 4 an atarka seems good enough to win quickly. Also, the interaction between the shockmaw Dragon and the bow is pretty insane, so I also recommend that. Generator servant is a very clear candidate for spots in the deck. I would recommend: -3 voyaging satyr, -4 sylvan caryatid, -1 shivan Dragon, -1 sarkhan, -1 kholagan, +3 xenagos, +1 elvish mystic, +3 Shockmaw Dragon, -2 frontier siege, +2 Bow of Nylea, +3 Generator Servant. Generator servant essentially gives 3 mana to spend (since it provides haste, it's as if you played the creature a turn earlier) which is bonkers. Also, swapping some basics or otherwise clunky lands for more fetches and adding some llanowar wastes could be very good for your curve. I love the flavor of this deck. ESPECIALLY since you can have the shockmaw + bow interaction, and also, trample + deathtouch for atarka, which is just really busted. If I could +3 I would.

Oh, and Satyr Hedonist is pretty nuts too. Just an idea...

There is one small problem, you have 2 Xenagos, the Revelers in your main deck and three in your sideboard, but there is a maximum of 5. Other than that the deck seems very fun.

Nice to see other people wish to see Dragons played in standard as well! :)Deck seems solid, but can be slow. Try Generator Servant as a ramp unit. It also gives the dragons haste where they dont have it. :)

Atarka, World Render is a powerful dragon to build a deck around, I went for Mardu with mie, pls do check it out :)

I have a Grixis dragons deck planned for standard, perhaps you should playtest against it, Jund vs Grixis.

Why Shivan Dragon over Siege Dragon or Spawn of Thraxes? They are 1 more to cast I know, but I like their abilities better.

One_Myle says... #18

Siege Dragon is a bad card for this deck. A) It's seven mana for a 5/5 flyer when I could be paying less. B) Nobody uses walls in standard so the wall destruction is useless. C) By the time it gets out most of my opponent's creatures will have a toughness stronger than 2.

As for Spawn of Thraxes, I simply don't have enough mountains in the deck for it's ability to do anything.

Did you test Frontier Siege in this deck? In my opinion you should try
+2 Frontier Siege
+1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
-1 Crucible of Fire
-2 Shivan Dragon

Yeah I have tried it but I replaced it with Xenagos, the Reveler. As for the other cards, well, I think that I'll take out out 1 Shivan Dragon for 1 Sarkhan. Thanks for the comment ;)

Great deck. I bet the whole operation would go quicker with out the black and just go pure aggro gruul. It'll probably go so quick you won't need the removal protection.

Tarzanovic says... #24

Yeah, maybe drop the single Shivan Dragon you have left and go without Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury and place 4x Whisperer of the Wilds for more ramp. You should hit Atarka, World Render turn 4 easy (T1: forest + Mystic; T2: mountain + Whisperer/Caryatid + Mystic; T3: anything (Stormbreath for instance, or, if you opt to keep Kolaghan, her); T4, Atarka, and GG)

Hi, I really liked your deck, so I did one based on it, with some changes here and there, if you want to take a look: Here comes the dragons!
