Yeah, it's definitely going to be between Stormcaller of Keranos , Omenspeaker , or Sigiled Starfish .. When finals are over I'm going to playtest a lot more and see which one works the best!

If you're looking for something to replace Dragon Mantle , you may want to consider Armed / Dangerous , if only for the Armed side.
Although it doesn't replace itself, +1/+1 and more importantly double strike on your buffed up, unblockable Flamespeaker Adept can close out games very quickly.

Armed would probably be another good card to consider; it would definitely be much quicker than the Wrecking Ogre I have sitting in the maybe board.
Thanks for the suggestion WomboCombo!

i have a similar deck and I've been play testing with the new starfish and it is beautiful! 2 mana for a 0/3 possible blocker can fend off a few early game mini dudes but with a scry every turn you basically control what your drawing next and gain the ability too, and can be tapped as a trigger. i highly recommend the starfish due to it just being plain epic for its cheapness.

I'm hoping my testing will go the same littleadam11. Although, in Aug. - October when RtR rotates out, I may be using both Omenspeaker and Sigiled Starfish as a replacement for the Frostburn Weird s. Although, if I end up throwing in Thunderous Might from the maybe board, I'll probably be using the Stormcaller of Keranos ... so many choices. ;_;

i see your board but the devotion with the Thunderous Might will be 10 at the absolute maximum, if you have all your red permanents, i think Armed just fits in much better since it gives a huge pumpage that could end games, easily. Stormcaller of Keranos is handy, but is a dead draw if you already have one on the field, but its ability can stack for a later game smash. but i think the Omenspeaker could possibly be -2'd for some starfishes, since the fish can be more useful after once and can be triggered whenever you want. id replace them with that or at least playtest the fishies instead of the speakers.

I suggest Keranos, God of Storms he is terrific with Thassa :)

Alright littleadam11, I'll try that out and see how it goes! 2 of each! :)
And BookBurner, I was waiting for more people to second Keranos, God of Storms to see if it was worth it! I'll go ahead and give it a try!
So I -2 Dragon Mantle , +1 Keranos, God of Storms , +1 Ral Zarek , -2 Omenspeaker , +2 Sigiled Starfish .

Well, first playtest through with the new set up, went 2-1 vs Esper control. Not bad, not bad at all! :D

Ral Zarek does serious work in this deck! Game 2, got a 4 head ulti which allowed me time while his mana was tapped to draw a Flamespeaker Adept with 2 Titan's Strength in hand, swinging for a lot to end that game. Next game the synergy with Ral Zarek and Sigiled Starfish is awesome! Getting to scry on my turn and theirs is wonderful! He gave up once I had Ral at 7 again, with a Flamespeaker already on the field; right after he Deicide d my Thassa, God of the Sea . :(

i told you it would work ;3 and i playtested with my deck but keeping it at a budget isnt working, so ill throw in a few gods too, but i am really wanting to use the Prophetic Flamespeaker cause that with a mere Titan's Strength is awesome, so we will see i suppose :)

No Knowledge and Power ? Sounds like that would be good in this deck.
May 28, 2014 4:25 p.m.
You need to add Fated Conflagration. I have it in a similar deck and it works amazingly.

@AlucardZain: I'm worried that Knowledge and Power might be a little slow for the deck; but it wouldn't hurt to try it out if I'm having issues against certain decks. (Maybe against aggro?)
@Gustavio: Fated Conflagration looks decent, but it's that triple red mana cost that scares me a bit.. Once again, may be worth a shot though!
@spaztaz101: Through playtesting, both Ral Zarek and Keranos, God of Storms have worked out great; but Ral in my opinion worked quite a bit better. I think he's a very underrated planeswalker. He's also 1 CMC less, and the synergy he has with Sigiled Starfish and even Flamespeaker Adept is really good. I've won a few games with him alone when I was able to get his ultimate off; even with 1 or 2 extra turns gave me enough unblockable damage to finish off the opponent (anything more than 2, it's almost a guaranteed win when Flamespeaker Adept is on the field.)

does this deck do ok against esper and azoruis control?
June 17, 2014 8:04 p.m.
A_Magikarp says... #20
In the playtesting I've done (which honestly hasn't been much), it felt like a pretty even match up (won 2-1 though against Esper). That's one instance in where Ral won the game for me; if this deck gets going early like I want it to, it puts out quite a lot of damage before they can stabilize. I've been meaning to playtest more, but I've been busy lately.

I know the deck can be much much better; I'm looking for a new space for the Voyage's End because it didn't feel like it helped much. I just don't know how I want to approach it quite yet from the maybe board.
June 17, 2014 8:21 p.m.
I'm running this deck, using Cyclonic Rift instead of Voyage's End .
No scry, but much stronger.
June 24, 2014 1:02 a.m.
Disperse has the same effect as Cyclonic Rift just no option to overload ;)
June 24, 2014 1:08 a.m.

I can see Cyclonic Rift working pretty well; the only reason I avoided it was mostly budget reasoning before.. (Got the Thassas through trades) I think it's definitely worth the playtest though! Thanks for the input sturmeh! :)

I love this deck and I am actually basing my newest deck off of this! I have a few questions though. What do you think about Goblin Electromancer ? Also what about Izzet Charm ? I understand that they do not have scry effects but they both seem as though they could be beneficial to this deck. What do you think?
A_Magikarp says... #1
Yeah, the sideboard is very protection heavy: Mizzium Skin for hexproof; Triton Tactics against Mizzium Mortars (Although, there may be a better option), and more focus on counters to defend against the kill spells. Hopefully, the first game will bring out a win, so I can hope to get another in games 2 or 3!
Thanks for the advice! I realize having one major win-con in a deck is very disadvantageous, which is why I have a lot of considerations in my maybe board. Like possibly adding in an AEtherling or something...
