Fetch those Evolving Wilds back with Pulse of Murasa! I absolutely love that card in my landfall deck setup. Also with a splash of black or blue you could make use of manlands instead of Cinder Glade.

Thanks AkaAkuma! I can't believe I've never thought of that.

I just started playing in tournaments so I haven't taken this one to test out yet but I think it will be great. Dragonmaster Outcast forces them to use some form of removal and It's incredibly easy to get Grove Rumbler up to a 7/7 or 9/9 with trample

Love Animist's Awakening

You really need a playset of the Scythe Leopards, I would take out a Grove Rumbler or something higher cost, to make the scythe playset.

Try Swell of Growth and main boarding Temur Battle Rage

Swell of Growth is really nice on Scythe Leopard - because turn two you could get a double landfall plus the +2/+2 making him a 5/5 turn 2!

Thanks for the advice WhiteWolf4321! I actually didn't even realize that I dropped one of my Scythe Leopards so I'll definitely add that back in now. Temur Battle Rage is in my main board already, and I play tested Swell of Growth and I didn't really like it. Two mana for +2/+2 isn't terrible, but without the guarantee of me having a land in my hand I just don't really think its worth running.

Great deck!+1 I have a $70 landfall deck like this except it's aggro. Would you mind checking it out? Druul On My Gruul Mana Pool

Really like this take on landfall. It seems like it would play both aggro-ish and tempo-ish and still have a very solid presence in the late game. If you wanted a more aggro approach I'd consider Valakut Predator or Makindi Sliderunner for the Akoum Stonewakers. I find the stonwaker's real value can only be used later on. Alternatively, you could just replace the Temur Battle Rages when they rotate out. All in all, really like the deck, +1!

Very nice. I do like your set up that you have just as much as mine. I have played in a couple tournaments, but fall flat with my landfall deck. I did set up mine with the new block getting ready to hit though so I didn't lose cards. Problem I ran into in tournaments is not enough response. I had plenty creature power, but against a deck like hardened scales and tempo, I just couldn't get out in front as it was either faster, or had more creature control. I would consider dropping the Temur Battle Rages for Brute Strength or Titan's Strength for extra bump in power when the new block hits. Either that or Outnumber to have more creature control. All in all, nice build

Thanks iZee and TidalWind49, I really appreciate the advise! Just swapped in Makindi Sliderunner for Akoum Stonewaker and Titan's Strength for Temur Battle Rage. I'm not crazy about the Titan's Strength but since Fate is about to rotate out it probably is worth swapping out now. Hopefully we see some good cards in SOI that can help out landfall decks!

Many would tend to see Titan's Strength as a place-holder for Atarka's Command, when you can get them. I would tend to replace them with 1 each of Animist's Awakening and Pulse of Murasa. The idea of using Pulse of Murasa to recycle Evolving Wilds and give extra multiple land-falls, plus a life bonus, should not be underestimated. Remember that Swell of Growth, Mina and Denn, Wildborn and Atarka's Command can all provide an extra landfall per turn, over and above what you get from Natural Connection, Sword of the Animist and Animist's Awakening. Consider Territorial Baloth and 4 landfalls in the turn - what more do you want?

Omnath, Locus of Rage @7cmc is just going to slow you down. You want to speed up and not slow down this deck. Drop Cinder Glade for Mirrorpool, to copy Swell of Growth or Animist's Awakening at a critical point in the game. Look for some sac-lands for added landfall. I would consider dropping to 23 lands to add in 2 Swell of Growth. Oath of Nissa will speed up your play and help get out Chandra, Flamecaller, which has a handy board-wipe if you get into trouble.

I appreciate the comment Murphy77. I 100% agree that Atarka's Command is better than Titan's Strength but I'm not willing to spend that much money on a card that is good, but not crucial to the deck. I feel the same way about Mirrorpool and even if I already had the Mirrorpools I don't really have enough colorless mana to support them. I can see why some people would use Swell of Growth but I personally don't really like it. If you have any extra lands in your hand then its great but if not it's just a 2-drop +2/+2 until end of turn. I don't like Territorial Baloth at all since it's basically a really bad version of Grove Rumbler and if you read the deck's description you must have noticed that I built this deck as a way for me to play Omnath, Locus of Rage. I definitely don't think that he slows the deck down because even though he is at 7cmc this deck is full of ramp to make sure we can play him sooner. I would love to have sac-lands for extra landfall procs but again I don't want to spend that much money, especially since they are about to rotate out of standard.

The only thing I could see happening is if your opponent uses Infinite Obliteration on your Scythe Leopard. I'd encourage you to add Dispel, Negate, or Rakshasa's Disdain, although the addition of blue will affect your deck cohesion.

Thanks for the comment mlbnation. No offense meant whatsoever but I'm assuming you're a fairly new player. Splashing in a color for fear of one card is pretty much never worth. I'm not really worried about someone getting rid of all my scythe leopards :)

I really like this deck. +1 from me. I'd like to suggest Undergrowth Champion since his price has went down alot since his release.

Thanks DAKATAN! I was running Undergrowth Champion when I originally created the deck but his lack of trample and cost made him seem very lackluster 9 games out of 10 so I took him out. No doubt a great card, but I don't think he fits in this deck as well as it seems he would on paper.

June 19, 2016 9:05 p.m.

+1 from me and seems very well thought out. I'm also needing assistance on my similar deck for its sideboard. Any chance you could stop by and give it a once over? I'd greatly appreciate it. Rockslide

I see your reasoning for not wanting Undergrowth Champion but I like the fact that he can get huge fast, Mina and Denn, Wildborn can give him trample, and then if he dies while Omnath is on the field that's three damage because undergrowth is an elemental.

The downside I see with him is when I play with my group of friends he's the target for removal since they have seen a lot of counters get built up on him.

And have you thought about adding Arlinn Kord  Flip to the deck. She's perfect for the colors and her ultimate can give all those 5/5 tokens you control haste and just tap to deal the damage.
