I too have been tossing around something similar using Vapor Snag instead of boomerang you should add Master of Waves almost all these merfolks are double blue so devotion is great also considering the low cost of the spells you should add some kind of card draw. I mean whats a blue deck wothout card advantage?

Great deck but i play test it vs my mono red deck Goblins + Artifacts = AWESOME = 2T you have 1 life and i just burn your creatures too easy Boomerang and Rune Snag can save them but you need side mate +1 btw ;).

Felixlives - I play something similar in my token deck Isochron Scepter + Raise the Alarm ;)

:/ how is Raise the Alarm in any way similar to Cyclonic Rift ??? To me it looks completely different in every way. Boomerang similar, Vapor Snag similar, then all of a sudden Raise the Alarm in no way similar. Are you just saying its similar because you play Isochron Scepter the scepter can be played in virtually every kind of deck and i like what your using it on but do not get that confused with it being a similarity in any way other than they both play a scepter.

Door of Destinies is a little too slow, I would take it out for two more AEther Vial . Merrow Commerce seems like a little useless, Silvergill Adept would be better. Finally, Mind Bend should be replaced by Spreading Seas . At the same mana cost, it makes ALL of your islandwalk creatures unblockable, cantrips, and makes your opponents mana a little bit trickier.

Sorry, not Spreading Seas , i meant Aquitect's Will (which doesnt effect your opponents mana, sorry I was getting the two cards mixed up)

-6 island

+4 Mutavault (more Merfolk!)

+2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx (loads of mana available to a mono-color deck)

Sword of Body and Mind - or any other weapon that deals bonus damage when you hit with any of your unblockables.

Ok look, It's not that I didnt read your revised description, just that i'm ignoring the very last part about Mind Bend . I still don't understand why you dont use Aquitect's Will . If you have a reason then i'll leave you alone.

Hi infinitemana, I understand you, so there are my reason. Mind Bend is instant, it give me small advantage. Next reason is that sometimes we play multiplayer (like pentagram and some other formats, or our modification of this formats) and this card give me big advantage, when other opponents share color of lands. In this case Aquitect's Will allow me affect only one player. Otherwise I agree, thet Aquitect's Will is great card for this deck especialy thanks to "If you control Merfolk, draw a card.".

if you don't mind a squishy but re-useable Mind Bend then i suggest Tideshaper Mystic . he benefits from all your anthems, he's a 1 drop common so he's inexpensive mana and money wise, can repeatedly mess with the opponent's mana base in multiples sometimes making certain spells impossible for your opponent to play, and most importantly triggers islandwalk for all your merfolk :D also i think you may need some more card draw to keep your momentum late game i would suggest Bident of Thassa mainly because it rewards you for doing what merfolk are already supposed to do (attacking for massive unblockable damage) and provides you more merfolk to play second main phase so you can untap the mer you attacked with using Merrow Reejerey cuz a hoard of effectively vigilanced merfolk is just unfair lol

have you considered Stormtide Leviathan for a last game drop (he might be too much mana but makes all lands on battle field islands and stops creature with out flying to attack) or even a Master of Waves get the merfolk buff and to load on chump blockers.

Lingering Mirage , Sea's Claim or Spreading Seas for all that islandwalk?

How come you dont use Cursecatcher or Coralhelm Commander ?

Boomerang --> Vapor Snag and 4 AEther Vial and at least 3 Spreading Seas garantee the last wave to land a massive attack.

Why not four Aether Vials? Why run Adaptive Automaton or Sovereign? Merfolk is such a tempo based deck, you can't be playing so many three drops. Phantasmal Image to copy your other lords if just better than playing bad cards. (Cough Tideshaper Mystic cough)

Oh lol Just saw "Don't change this deck to other Merfolk decks" aka "Don't offer suggestions to make my deck better".

Aight I'm out.

Spreading Seas I don't know what you could take out for it, but when you use it on your opponent's land, your creatures can't be blocked AND you draw a card.

Or, on second thought, Aquitect's Will would be even better than Spreading Seas .
