Ive been rooting for ol'Seabiscuit a long time so I'm glad he's starting to get a little a respect. The original deck build, with x3 Thassa, God of the Sea; x2 Bident of Thassa; x1 Spear of Heliod, did well against the mono-red, Selesnya, and esper control ive play tested against but was a little clunky and the deck had trouble with aggro builds. I swapped these in favor x3 Dramatic Rescue , 2 Claustrophobia , and a Domestication . Deck runs much smoother and is a better fit in the current meta where aggro is prevelent.

Looking at some of my choices for maindeck and how they work together.

Master of Waves- Seabuscuit here is a real workhorse and represents a lot of our muscle. Folks have reported to me that they really felt they were winning because they saw not a real creature threat or counter for six turns(and honestly, Omenspeaker and the wierd aren't all that threatening). Just watch their face as your board presence gallops from 0 to 20 in just under a second.

Dramatic Rescue - this deck can appear slow to start and any life gain and creature control is a huge plus while setting up our devotion engines. This card wins games against fast aggro, especially mono-red and selesnya, by severely disrupting their tempo. Also a good trick to save Master of Waves from a Supreme Verdict .

Azorius Charm - this does so, so much. Fixing draws, remove an opponents creature or lifelink some seahorses. Topdecking a creature is as good as losing a turn in card advantage and can be huge if it delays getting a needed land drop.

Supreme Verdict - this blows up boards really, really well. I will favor cards like Detention Sphere, Dramatic Rescue , and Azorius Charm in managing the pre-verdict board state since it also destroys our Claustrophobia which is a solid source of devotion and something to try and keep in play.

Sphinx's Revelation - great way to restock the hand and life in the end game or get crucial midgame card advantage.

Mutavault - synergizes well with Master of Waves. A 3/3 manland? Yes, please.

Omenspeaker fixes draws and protects spells like Supreme Verdict and Sphinx's Revelation from Thoughtseize and Rakdos's Return by burying them a card below topdeck. Like fiber for our card draw, it also keeps us regular.

Claustrophobia - Disable 3-4+ drop creatures and gain devotion. Can be good early game against aggro when we also want to make waves by actually playing the master t4 for 3 tokens.

domesticate- a one-of that is good in the current meta especially against red and white weenies. Good early devotion engine for a pre-verdict MoW. Very satisfying to tame my opponents Fleecemane Lion or nab a Boros Reckoner.

Frostburn Weird devotion engine and awesome early blocker. The blue doom blade.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion our biggest bomb next to master of waves. Great against midrange matchup with her board wipe. Our alt win condition.

Jace, Architect of Thought- the (+1) that gives creatures -1/-0 stops weenies. I tend towards his (-2) off the bat against midrange decks, looking for draw, presence, wipes.

Jace, Memory Adept is best against the mirror. Revelation for 5?discard 10 too. Its only 25% of your deck in one turn. He's maindeckable as a one of here too if only to put a clock on my opponent with his 0.

Nightveil Specter is awesome but I found myself not playing him in curve with only 5 islands and 7 duel lands that produce u. Switched out some plains for temple of silence and godless shrine to hit my curve. Should I just let this fella go?
