oh i also found Phelddagrif so you can have 2 of them :)

Great suggestion, as well. I did think about whether I wanted to focus more on control or tokens and I decided on control. I added Capsize , Revoke Existence , Creeping Corrosion , and am contemplating Return to Dust , as well. I also added Hurricane as a win condition, as I can often get 20+ mana and can alter Circle of Protection: Black /Circle of Protection: Red to green and prevent damage to myself. I will not be adding the Pheldagriffs but I'm going to make an alternate build that focuses more on tokens where they will find a home.

That's great and all but Painter's Servant is banned

Yeah, I know. Did you even bother to look at the deck or read the description before commenting?

Its not even in the decklist and he says it in the description.

This deck really caught my attention. It catches the essence of how an EDH deck should be. Unfortunately this deck is a bit difficult to come with good suggestions due to not knowing how it plays. Hopefully I'll come with some good suggestions.
Crackdown is a good card for control and it will only affect a very few of your creatures and it is possible for you to manipulate it.
Govern the Guildless is a reusable way of changing the colors of a creature and eventually gaining control of a creature. Unfortunately forecasting is a bit derp making it only usable in your upkeep.
Celestial Dawn . Has a huge backdraw with the lands you're running, but you can make use of it.
Avacyn, Guardian Angel would really help you in being diplomatic and has great interaction with your other abilities.
Illusion/Reality Has utility.
Blind Seer , reusable color fixing of a permanent.

@Ulvhedner: I used to run Eight-and-a-Half-Tails but cut it out to focus on making permanents red and black for consistency, but rethinking I can use it as both a pseudo-Shifting Sky and Obsidian Acolyte /Crimson Acolyte . I may remove one of the two I just mentioned for it and see how it runs when I get together with my group next week.
As for the others, I never considered Crackdown
but it seems useful. I'm not sure what I would take out but I'll consider it.
I used to run Celestial Dawn , as it not only mana fixes but also has the distinction of being the only card to let you spend mana of any color with no restrictions in EDH, but I took it out for Chromatic Lantern , which was in turn removed for Explosive Vegetation .
Govern the Guildless is neat but falls into the same boat as Trait Doctoring in limited usage and lasting until end of turn. Same with Illusion/Reality , the ability to use it once is not ideal.
I've thought about both Avacyn cards, and it has been recommended before. It doesn't grant protection, so I can't use it to stave off spells or swing unblocked, but preventing all damage is nice if I don't have a Circle of Protection: Black /Circle of Protection: Red . I'll have to think about it some more.
Blind Seer is awesome, and gets bonus points for being Urza. I have one in my binder, not sure why I'm not using it.
Thanks for the suggestions :)

When I recommend Illusion/Reality it is mainly because of it being a split card. You'll be able to remove an artifact if you don't need the Illusion part of the card. There are lots of artifacts in this format and most of them are worth getting rid of.
I've also noticed you have Mirri's Guile in your deck. Could easily replace it with Sylvan Library .
There is also Story Circle that can help you out as it's another circle of protection.
Glory , Anurid Scavenger and Concerted Effort are some cards worth considering.
Mystic Remora is a card that can easily be replaced.
For some reason the more time I spend on finding cards the worse my ability to write English gets.

I used to run Glory (and Genesis ) and was contemplating putting it back in, I just found it being exiled more often than I would like. Story Circle is nice, but with two caveats: it requires white mana and requires me to pick a color, so I cannot change it later. Sylvan Library is definitely an improvement but I don't have the money for it currently, but it's definitely going on the list. I have a Concerted Effort and it could be neat; makes giving protection easier. Anurid Scavenger is also neat, and lets me stick cards for tutoring back in.
As for Mystic Remora , I've often found the card draw to be invaluable, especially if I have 30+ mana at my disposal. I'm interested in knowing what you would replace it with. I'm thinking maybe Mystic Speculation ?

Lifeforce might be too specific, but works with Shifting Sky .Have you tried Snapcaster Mage ?
August 4, 2014 12:52 a.m.
I think Sphinx's Revelation would be the better option if you ask me.
No idea if Anurid Scavenger will actually work in your deck though.
August 4, 2014 12:24 p.m.
Mystic Speculation is sooooo good. The choice of buyback totaling only 3 cmc makes it fall somewhere between Petals of Insight and Serum Visions .
August 4, 2014 1:19 p.m.
Lifeforce is too narrow to use effectively, same with Order of the Sacred Torch . I could make another build that focuses on blowing things up with Pentarch Paladin , Northern Paladin , Southern Paladin , etc. and they would find a nice home. I have thought about Snapcaster Mage but I don't really have a way of utilizing his effect more than once so I don't think it's worth running. Right now I'm debating what to take out to run both Sphinx's Revelation and Mystic Speculation . Are any of you aware of more passive card drawing enchantments like Rhystic Study , Mystic Remora , etc.?

This is really, really cool! Not at all what I'm used to seeing out of Bant. +1 for making me smile :)
August 7, 2014 5:34 p.m.
Staff of Nin and Mind's Eye are good passive card draws.
August 7, 2014 5:52 p.m.
Took out Capsize for Blind Obedience . It taps down tokens I gift, taps down their artifacts and creatures, and allows me to extort my common buyback spells (Whim of Volrath & Mystic Speculation ). I won a game two nights ago by extorting 11 times on my turn and 15 times on my opponents with Mystic Speculation , Prophet of Kruphix , Alchemist's Refuge , Mana Reflection , Mirari's Wake , and a boat load of lands.

I think that Jace's Erasure would work well with Painter Servant + Compost. You draw, they mill, you draw, etc. And both parts of the combo say may, so you can end it whenever you want.

Do you want to replace those Circles with Story Circle and Righteous Aura?
February 24, 2015 5:29 a.m.
No, I like the Circles of blank because they cost colorless mana and I can change which Circle it is with a color word card. Since Story Circle has you choose a color you can't alter it later. Thanks for the suggestion though

Oh whoops. THAT Avacyn... she's pretty bad. Like me and my understanding what which Avacyn is Avacyn.
