This is my current Abzan Aggro list; you might notice a couple... interesting choices in the deck. Here's a quick explanation:
The current metagame is, for the most part, very light on "hard removal". Most decks are running very little removal or are otherwise running burn as removal.
This provides the perfect environment for Master of the Feast. The opponent either deals with it using sorcery speed removal, like Banishing Light, spends at least two burn spells to kill it, or uses their turn to temporarily remove it with Jeskai Charm. You obviously board this out against the removal heavy mirror or Control, but those are both rare in my meta-game. I find it important in the main as the fifth and sixth flying threat to crush the sudden sprouting up of UW heroic and Jeskai Ascendancy Combo decks in the format.
By a similar token about removal, I wanted a way to protect my two drops from Bile Blight and Lightning Strike/Magma Jet on the second turn. But I would be restricted on mana, often being either tapped out or at one mana. I thought about Gods Willing, which is a fine card; the issue is God's Willing uses white mana, which I will routinely only have one of at a time. If that was the case, I couldn't cast a Fleecemane Lion or Siege Rhino and protect it on the same turn. I still needed to protect them though.
That's where Gather Courage comes in. It preys on decks relying on doing exact burn damage and is a nightmare for the heroic/ascendancy decks which already have to do complex calculations every combat to get the most out of their spells. Lastly, it allows Siege Rhino to beat Polukranos and other Siege Rhinos in combat as well as allowing for a defensive 4/4 Rakshasa Deathdealer with regeneration up on turn 3 is you play a tapped land.
Boon Satyr is a flexible card. Sometimes it's removal, sometimes it is a threat against control, sometimes it's pushing through lethal on a Rhino or a flier.
I'm running 3 Murderous Cut in the main deck to test it more. I like drawing one a game, and they're fine in any number less than two a game.
If you can get them, I would advise to drop one Temple of Silence and one Llanowar Wastes for two additional Temple of Malady. One white is the most you ever need, and eleven would be enough for the current color mix. I wouldn't go lower, though, as having the one white is crucial to the deck.
