A few nights ago I sat down with my old deck as well as a 44 card sideboard, and tore it apart into its' most basic parts. I stood up four hours later and left behind a bloody playmat, broken drams of childhood innocence, and this bad motherfucker!
The reconstruction of this deck addressed some serious issues with its' performance:-A lack of card draw early game.-A lack of frequent and repeatable card draw, Conjurer's Closet aside.-A weak board state for the better part of both early and mid game. -Fragile engines which had clear main targets.
This deck addresses these issues in the following ways:-Addition of Amass the Components, in order to facilitate better card draw early game.-Addition of Harvester of Souls and Consecrated Sphinx, for better repeatable card draw.-Addition of cards like Rakdos, Lord of Riots to allow faster and earlier casting of larger creatures.-Engines comprised of many important parts, but few that are unable to stand alone.
This deck will light its' creatures on fire. It will light your creatures on fire. It will bring back your creatures, light them on fire, throw them screaming at you and light you on fire.

-I'm going to give an overview of the objective of the deck, for those interested in giving feedback, and for anything not covered, please comment and ask questions, because I'm interested in making this the strongest and most fantastic deck it can be. That being said: This is not a combo deck. I'm not interested in running Worldgorger Dragon, or infinite mana combos. If I wanted to play competitively for money or prizes I would likely add those, as well as Stranglehold and Chains of Mephistopheles.
While I love feedback, I want to point out that this is not a deck that I just casually threw together in a few hours, I've been fine tuning this deck for nearly a year, and have been learning the nuances of its' style obsessively, so if you don't understand why I have something in the deck it's probably not because I don't know what I'm doing.
Engines:The first and simplest engine in the deck is Conjurer's Closet in combination with either Solemn Simulacrum, Mulldrifter, or Sphinx of Uthuun. This is a solid way to generate extra value out of already great cards. The Second engine in the deck is built around Sheoldred, Whispering One, Flayer of the Hatebound, and any sacrifice outlet, such as Phyrexian Tower, or preferably Xathrid Demon. Sheoldred & Flayer on board means you're reanimating a creature every turn, and that creature deals damage equal to its power to any creature or player, providing both burn and reasonable targeted control every upkeep. If you add in Rakdos, Lord of Riots, once you deal that damage to a player all creatures in your hand cost next to nothing, if you add Havengul Lich you can cast cards strait out of your graveyard as well, which also trigger Flayer of the Hatebound. Getting Harvester of Souls in play means you will draw cards for all creatures you kill, and all creatures you sacrifice, turning a burn engine into an engine that lets you peel through your deck remarkably fast, any creatures you draw can be put into play immediately because of Rakdos, and any non-permanents can be used to dig farther, tutor directly, or board wipe and burn further. Finally the addition of Conjurer's Closet and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed will let you sack any creature you want (Undying), and then Flicker that creature, cleansing it of that nasty +1/+1 counter that suggests it could die permanently... as though that would stop you. A board wipe with Mikaeus on the field also means that when the dust settles most of your engine will remain in tact. On top of all that, Cryptborn Horror thrown anywhere in there will drop a massive creature, and if you notice you did more damage this turn than the last you can flicker him with Conjurer's Closet, or if you dig him out of the graveyard while Flayer of the Hatebound is on the field, you can do that damage to an enemy, and then flicker him at the end of the turn to double his power and toughness!
There are a few ways to ruin opponents quickly.Reanimating Jin-Gitaxius, Core Augur or Sheoldred, Whispering One within the first 3 turns will always ruin everyone's day but yours. Sire Of Insanity is best used after an opponent has used a tutor, but before they have played the card they tutored for. Many players will end their turn by tutoring for something useful or game ending for next turn, and this is s perfect opportunity to get rid of it before it becomes a problem. Decree of Pain
