Let's see who we are talking about: Ascendant Acolyte, Forgotten Ancient, Galloping Lizrog, Kalonian Hydra, Maga, Traitor to Mortals, Managorger Hydra, Primordial Hydra, Thief of Blood, Thundering Mightmare, and Prime Speaker Zegana.

these boys are not so big by themselves, but their effect gets stronger and stronger the bigger they get: Blighted Agent, Champion of Lambholt, Dinosaur Egg, Elusive Otter, Emergent Woodwurm, Experiment One, Fell Beast of Mordor, Necroplasm, Sage of Hours, Sarulf, Realm Eater, Simic Manipulator, Tanazir Quandrix, Triskelion, and Viral Drake.

HOW many counters?!

this deck sports most of the substitution effects that increase the number of counters put on a creature each time, and a LOT of doubling effects, which are: Ascendant Acolyte, Clamavus, Corpsejack Menace, Deepglow Skate, Galloping Lizrog, Kalonian Hydra, Primordial Hydra, Tanazir Quandrix, Branching Evolution, Doubling Season, Hydra's Growth, Primal Vigor, Fractal Harness, Luxior, Giada's Gift, Biogenic Upgrade, Solidarity of Heroes, and Invigorating Surge. But wait, these were only the doubling effects, in addition to those there are Agent Frank Horrigan, Roalesk, Apex Hybrid, Viral Drake, Atomize, Mutational Advantage, Inexorable Tide, and Contagion Engine's proliferate; the "1 more" effect from Hardened Scales, Winding Constrictor, and Kami of Whispered Hopes; and if you are against multiple opponents, or your opponent got so much life that one attack isn't enough, there are Power Fist, and Conclave Sledge-Captain.

what are Oko and Sakashima doing here?

Remember kids, Cards that enter as copies do NOT copy the counters on their target, so I wouldn't suggest copying most of the big boys (except for Kalonian Hydra), instead I would suggest copyng Winding Constrictor or Kami of Whispered Hopes for yet another "1 more counter" effect; if possible I would rather copy Clamavus or Corpsejack Menace to get another doubling effect; otherwise Agent Frank Horrigan, Blighted Agent, Cathedral Acolyte, Vigor, Reyhan, Last of the Abzan *f-etch*, and Ezuri, Claw of Progress are almost always good picks Sakashima of a Thousand Faces is also here because he was the only good blue partner I found tbh

control

I generally divide control in 2 sections: protection from enemy effects, destruction of enemy cards in the first department we have Cathedral Acolyte, Plaxcaster Frogling, Vigor, Mutational Advantage, Repulsive Mutation, Silkguard, and just to "protect" your counters you can use Reyhan, Last of the Abzan *f-etch*, Bioshift, Fate Transfer, and Quirion Beastcaller In the second deparment there are Necroplasm, Rampaging Yao Guai, Sarulf, Realm Eater, Simic Manipulator, Triskelion, Atomize, Beast Within, Fate Transfer, Pongify, Rapid Hybridization, Putrefy, Wave Goodbye, Retribution of the Ancients

mana cheats/ramps

in order to play a lot of big boys, you need a lot of mana, therefore we appreciate the help from Dinosaur Egg, Emergent Woodwurm, Gyre Sage, Heronblade Elite, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Rampant Rejuvenator, Rishkar, Peema Renegade, Runadi, Behemoth Caller, and your run of the mill green ramps: Cultivate, Farseek, Nature's Lore, Three Visits, Kodama's Reach, and obviously the Sol Ring

win conditions

it isn't always easy to kill everyone when they always remove your hydras, so you need to profit differently from your scores of counters: you can facilitate the passing of an attacker by using Champion of Lambholt, Conclave Sledge-Captain, Herald of Secret Streams, Skatewing Spy, Power Fist, or with Winged Temple of Orazca   (Hadana's Climb   backside). otherwise you can try and deal lethal damage with Fell Beast of Mordor and Maga, Traitor to Mortals. lastly you can try to win with Simic Ascendancy, if your opponents don't have enchantment removal, it goes real fast
