@w4rped

No worries dude! We're all guilty of it at some point or another. Even I am.

@Mortem

Sorry for clogging up the comments on your deck, mate! This really isn't the place for discussions such as this, and I apologize.

I apologise too, (again) I also just simply want to find out more about this deck and follow its evolution.

Quick question, love the deck but when it says use Abzan Falconer to target Phalanx Leader what do you mean by this?

December 8, 2014 9:17 a.m.

Mont3y says... #4

Abzan Falconer will give Phalanx Leader the buff of flying and Phalanx leader will buff all creatures with the +1. so all creatures get flying because of the +1

Yay, I finally beat this deck with one I'm currently testing. You won't believe how happy I am right now. My friend uses this deck every time he plays and I had no way of dealing with it, but now... now I CAN WIN!

Sorry for the randomness but yeah, your deck is still totally awesome!

@OokamiMaster This deck is very vulnerable to removal heavy decks. Abzan is a nightmare for it, and Mardu can really trash it if it has enough removal type stuff. Another deck that hurts it is the recent Dimir control deck, unless you can get your stuff out fast, it slows you down to almost nothing. Not to say that it isn't good to beat this deck, but there are many out there that hurt it pretty bad. Figuring out how to prevent these decks from smashing this deck has been my goal for the past few weeks. I built a deck like this one that adds blue to deal with some of the issues the deck has, but it still it hard to deal with the deck's natural enemies. If you can, could you tell me which deck you are using to beat this one? It would help to know which cards are having the most effect against it as well.

@w4rped I was using a W/G Control Aggro Deck. I would swat anything that got big and any key enchantments that came out would get exiled. Then just kept swinging while making my creatures big at the same time. I'm currently working on it to be able to handle a lot of common decks used though it's still in testing. you can check it out if you want. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Lions Den

I'll probably add Godsend to it to help with killing off some Important key cards.

OokamiMaster says... #9

@w4rped Key enchantments in this case being Hardened Scales I suppose.

December 11, 2014 6:54 a.m.

w4rped says... #10

@OokamiMaster No offense, but I am not sure how you consistently beat this deck with the one you posted. 8 removal spells are not enough to keep this deck down, and the modifications that I made to it in my version make that even more the case. While Hardened Scales is nice, the synergy between cards that add counters and heroic creatures is enough to get by without it. I actually don't mind when people target my hardened scales because it is one less card they have in hand. Creatures on board it the one thing I can not have being destroyed though, because they are so very important to the deck. Thanks for the input though. The New Gangnam Style ($50 Budget) check that out when you playtest your deck, it should give a little more resistance.

@w4rped I never said I consistently beat it. though it's pretty 50/50. My deck still needs work but it'll get better with time. Any advice would be appreciated.

w4rped says... #12

@OokamiMaster Ahh, that makes a lot more sense now! This deck is hard to beat with any real consistency because every other game it usually builds some really beefy early threats. And without having a lot of removal, the protection spells will bounce most of your stuff right off and continue them growing, or give a bit of evasion when they are huge and sneak in for the win.

Oh hi. I'm a bit late to the party, but Jdvanliew based his shitty-ass Tap Tap Revenge deck off my Infinite Possibility (Elvephants) build, received a ton of votes because he spammed his deck everywhere, and then proceeded to try to flail it around like it's some kind of representation of how big his e-peen his. "hurr durrrrrr i got it to #3 on the list because i begged people to feature it for me, and spammed it in every comment i could possibly find. i must be a good magic player! time to insult everyone else to put the icing on the shit-cake that i've baked on tappedout."

Long story short, no one likes him.

If you're reading this, Jdvanliew, you should probably quit MTG. Somewhere in between your cocky attitude and shitty deckbuilding lies everything that's wrong with this game. Your deck got pity votes. It is bad, you are bad, and you should feel bad.

For the record, I don't usually call people out in public. This guy has been nothing but a thorn in everyone's side since I've seen him posting. Sorry for derailing your comment chain, and sorry if I seem a bit conceited with this post. We should start a petition to have him banned rofl. If you read his comment history I'm sure it's justifiable.

@Dave Haha, this whole thing was derailed long ago. Jdvanliew has been a serious troll. I feel for Mortem having his comments hijacked. Again, sorry bro! Hopefully it gets you some votes though! It's true enough that Jdvanliew is not too mtg-smart, and he blocked me because I wouldn't stop calling him out on his dumb comments that tried to tear me down. Tough luck that he stole your deck. Doesn't really matter much, he proved his worth when he did it. He wont build any decks that are worth anything the way he's going. Thanks for letting everyone know how he is though.

Out of respect for Mortem we should try to keep the comments to his deck from now on... I am one of the biggest offenders, but we shouldn't fill his comments up with fighting anymore.

Remove ALL the Favored Hoplites for a playset of Fabled Heros.

December 31, 2014 12:40 p.m.

TheHroth says... #22

@Ne0Wolf7

Favored Hoplite can be much bigger than Fabled Hero by the time he would hit the field...in this deck, Favored Hoplite is by far the better choice. Fabled Hero is much too slow, as Jdvanliew said.

December 31, 2014 1:42 p.m.

w4rped says... #23

@TheHroth

Very correct. Fabled Hero is a slow card in general since he shouldn't be played before turn 4 (protection issues). Definitely more suited to a true midrange deck. This deck wins during midrange turns, but needs to have the cards come out early to make that possible.

@Jdvanliew

Ainok Bond-Kin is not a good card for this deck. I am not saying it wouldn't help in some situations, but it is not worth the card slow with what little it does. Since it is not heroic, it doesn't have the same effect of getting large amounts of counters when people try to remove it. It gives first strike to everyone but himself, unless you outlast. First strike is not all that important when you are swinging with 8/8 creatures. The Abzan Falconer or the trample version would be much better suited because it gives evasion and damage ability. When it comes down to it you wont be playing the bond-kin until you have creatures with counters, and that wont really happen until turn 5. So one more mana for evasion is not a big deal. Either way, I don't believe any of them truly belong in the deck since they aren't that overpowering. But they could be used as sideboard easily for heavy creature matchups.
