The first time I saw this deck, Ally Warfield was piloting it. I have wanted to play it ever since, but the list has gone through some changes since it first premiered in 2019. The ban of Mycosynth Lattice, to me, meant a lower need to play Karn. With the recent Companion nerf, I no longer feel the need to include Zirda. While most Stoneforge decks have gone over to Bant in order to play Uro and gain access to powerful blue planeswalkers, I personally still feel that Eldrazi carrying swords can get the job done. This may not be the most optimal build, but I fully intend to test this out and tweak it over time. I've become "the Taxes" player in my LGS, so having this to switch to will probably be fun.
So, intro out of the way- this is Selesnya Blade! (Well, my take on it, at any rate.) We have ramp from Hierarch and Stirrings, which is why I feel comfortable running so few lands. Stirrings also lets us grab an Eldrazi from the top 5 cards, which will help sculpt our hands. Stoneforge Mystic is here to fetch up our equipment- I've included what appears to be the standard array of Batterskull, Fire & Ice, and Feast & Famine. We have three different Eldrazi to carry our swords. First, Thought-Knot Seer is a 4/4 that doesn't immediately die to Bolt, can't be Pushed without revolt being online, and lets us attack our opponents hands. Reality Smasher is the heavy hitter- a 5/5 with haste that requires our opponent to discard a card if they want to spend a removal spell on it. Last, Eldrazi Displacer is a respectable 3/3 that can be suited up, but you're also going to be using the flicker ability to save your creatures. We also have two utility creatures. Giver of Runes will let us protect our creatures, and Ranger-Captain of Eos can tutor up Giver or Hierarch, as well as carry a sword or shut down interaction from our opponent. We have a playset of Path for removal of our own, and 22 lands to use to cast our spells.
The sideboard is where I'm the most confident on: Damping Sphere is great for Storm and Titan matchups. For the graveyard, we have 4 cards- 2 copies of Grafdigger's Cage and 2 copies of Rest in Peace. Dismember adds to our removal if we play against creature-based strategies. Knight of Autumn and Kor Firewalker are both great against Burn and Prowess decks, and Knight can give itself +1+1 counters, making it a strong candidate for our equipment. Finally, we have 2 copies of Veil of Summer- it protects our creatures and draws us a card. No need to go any further on that particular card.
And that's the deck! As I stated earlier, I will be testing this and making changes over time. I'll do my best to show those changes here, too.
