Loxodon or Boon Satyr —Oct. 9, 2013
I really can't decide on what combination of Loxodon Smiter and Boon Satyr i should go with. People are saying 4x Boon Satyr because of flash, but i'm fairly new to the game and i don't understand why i would need to flash in my Boon Satyr if i don't really have that many instants to save mana for anyway, and Loxodon is a 4/4 as opposed to a 4/2, so some advice would be cool.
regarding Elspeth, Sun's Champion her destroy spell would only harm my smiters anyway, a monstrosity lion wouldn't get destroyed because of indestructible and my archangel and all the other creatures wouldn't die either.
still considering Ajani, Caller of the Pride instead of her tho

He's a flash creature, allowing you to keep Rootborn Defenses mana open and flash him in at the EoT and still attack the same turn Loxodon Smiter would, and he's a good top deck later game as an instant speed +4/+2 to save a creature or seal a game.

Boon Satyr has Flash meaning you can play it any time you can play an instant (basically any time you have priority) this effects both casting him as a creature and his bestow. Meaning you do not have to tap your mana to play him until your opponents End of Turn (EoT) when they can't respond with sorceries. So during your opponent's turn you will have no tapped lands for when/if they cast a board wipe (Supreme Verdict and friends) to which you can respond with Rootborn Defenses instead of playing the Boon Satyr

what if you need him for defense? then should you cast him during your turn so you can have him to block?

and how could Loxodon Smiter and Boon Satyr attack on the same turn?

You can flash him in in response to them declaring attackers in time to block or declare blockers

Trusty, the only reason i would run Boon Satyr is to flash it in right? But i'm not running that many instants, so what would i need to save mana for? I just don't understand and an explanation would be wonderful

should i run 3x Sylvan Caryatid or 3x Elvish Mystic ? I'm not running 4 of either considering my low mana curve.. also im running 23 lands and im not changing that.
i think ill swap out Ordeal of Heliod for Call of the Conclave
