Sideboard

Maybeboard

Taking advantage of all the first-striking weenies in standard, this deck can behave defensively without losing momentum. Between Rancor and Silver-Inlaid Dagger you can land heavy attacks fast and maintain an advantage in field presence.

Basically this started out as a budget deck, but I wanted to see just how much I could eke out of the archetype. The enchants and equips give surprising reach but should still out-race mid-range, while Thalia should stall control long enough to dodge the board-wipes you face. I'm quite anxious to try Nevermore, which I think should hose Frites and other decks with limited finishers. This, plus other control elements and Mikaeus, the Lunarch in the sideboard, should give you the long-game option as well.
