Combines the advantages of Golgari and Selesnya into a single deck, focusing around aggro. This deck was inspired by Spootyone's Are You Ready? | Dark Selesnya Aggro.
It starts off as a fast aggro deck with cheap, power creatures that generally cost less in mana cost than its own power (Selesnya's advantage) and combines the regenerative effects and scavenge abilities from Golgari through Lotleth Troll and
Varolz, the Scar-Striped
. It has an extremely strong early game with good mid-game potential to try and finish off the opponent.
Overall, the core color of this deck is green/white with a splash of black, allowing this deck to flow easy and consistently since the deck carries no double white or double black cards and makes it easier to run double green cards.
Mainboard
Creatures
Lotleth Troll - one of the primary cards in deck, cheap, fast and has the potential to grow bigger through discard. Synergies well with
Varolz, the Scar-Striped
and avoids destruction through regen.
Varolz, the Scar-Striped
- your 2nd best card in the deck, not to be entirely relied on but provides the flexibility needed in a cheap aggro deck by providing a way to create big creatures. Also, has resilience to destruction due to regen ability.
Dryad Militant and
Soldier of the Pantheon
- cheap, fast efficient one droppers.
Soldier of the Pantheon
also comes with pro multi-colored which helps a lot especially early on and when in graveyard both of these cards are a 2 counters for 1 mana scavenge with Varolz.
Fleecemane Lion - similar advantages as the one-droppers, 2-mana cost for 3/3. The potential for it to become indestructible AND hexproof gives it mid-range value and a good target for scavenge later on.
Loxodon Smiter - again same advantages as the previous 3 cards due to it being a 4/4 for 3 mana. Great early game potential and also provides resilience vs control i.e. cannot be countered and shouldn't be Thoughtseize'ed out of the deck. Most players will actually have a hard time really Thoughtseizing anything great out of hand and will end up suffering 2 life for minimal damage to this deck.
Boon Satyr
- a great card that's flexible. It can come out as a 4/2 at instant speed for 3 mana or it can buff up any of my creatures (probably Lotleth Troll) at instant speed for 5, which gives me tricks to play and something to throw my opponent off-guard with.
Voice of Resurgence - a must have addition in most if not all decks involving Selesnya. A card that helps keep control decks in check and makes it difficult for them to work around.
Spells
Ready / Willing
- this provides me with limited control power through the deathtouch and helps prolong game with lifelink. It forces opponent's to reconsider before blocking any of my creatures and goes well with my very aggressive strategy. It can also be used to prevent Supreme Verdicts as well as surprise block aggro decks. Great flexible card that I can take advantage of on either side.
Advent of the Wurm - Okay so I just buckled down and threw this card into my deck as a big nasty surprise creature and definitely reinforces the aggro nature of this whole deck.
