No way, that card is the biggest double edged sword in existence. It's a bad idea - far too risky.

Do you think that you have enough token producers to support Eldrazi Monument? It would be another anthem effect and it provides evasion and indestructible to fend off a number of wrath effects. The downside is that if your means of making tokens is exiled, you can't just sac the monument. It will force you to keep sacrificing creatures until you have nothing left.

Tucking has been nerfed so theres no point running Condemn over Path to Exile really. I also think Skyshroud Poacher could definitely help in the deck, as three mana is really nothing when you can fetch any elf.

Regal Force and Shamanic Revelation should be able to find homes in the deck.

Also, Wren's Run Packmaster basically just shoots out hordes of wolves, Seedcradle Witch opens up doors for commander damage wins.

That's fine for strictly casual play, but I am interested in a more high stakes setting.

Mmmmmmm. Elves. I love this Commander. He's easily in my top 2 in the game. This build looks great! There are so many similarities between yours and mine but there are definitely some differences that define them as unique as well! Have a look and tell me what you think! Also, I'm your 50th +1! umbral mantle plus elvish archdruid or any other elf that can tap for more than three mana gives you infinite mana and an infinitely huge dude. or infinitely huge dudes from ezuris pump ability.

Take a look at my Elf build, Peril of the Ellcrys. It's very competitive and typically goes off turn 3-4.

Why no Smokestack?Considering the power of it, and the fact that the archetype is named after it, it seems like a staple in this deck.

Smokestack is way too slow, IMO

Perhaps Kamahl, Fist of Krosa to combine with Elesh Norn for even more mass land destruction?

Have you updated this since the Vancouver mulligan? Do you plan on updating it for SOI, or are no cards from the set meshing well?

What cards, would you say, are meta-dependent and are basically flex slots?

April 4, 2016 2:23 a.m.

Rienuaa says... #21

No cards in the set are elves or eternally playable in the stax niche, which is why the deck isn't changing. I may be changing testing out Season's Past, but it'll likely not make the cut.

As far as changing since the Vancouver mulligan, I've had a little trouble keeping my land counts up, but I can't seem to make a cut that leaves me happy with the land count and the nonlands.

The addition of fast mana artifacts greatly improved this deck.

April 6, 2016 12:37 a.m.

so how do you actually win? I'm still a bit confused even after reading your blurb.

Really like the deck btw +1

The main wincon is making my opponents draw 100 or so cards without being able to respond. I end up catching a loop of held priority - discarding a card to survival of the fittest is part of the cost, and selvala is a mana ability - so they will literally be unable to respond, they will just die via mill.

Can I get a budget replacement for Ravages of War?

PotatoeWizard says... #25

Catastrophe is a good replacement but obviously is a little weaker.
