What's your reasoning on not running Linvala, Keeper of Silence?

I love the deck and am working on something similar.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but discarding Kozilek, Butcher of Truth to Fauna Shaman or Survival of the Fittest will still require priority to pass to resolve since Kozilek's ability is a triggered ability and not a replacement effect like Darksteel Colossus

In regards to your stax package, are Sphere of Resistance and Trinisphere too hard for you to fight through? I feel like all the extra mana you make off Selvala makes them manageable. Also, is the new Thalia just not good enough? She makes fetchlands and opposing cradles (among other things) laughably bad and is inherently one sided.

As for your tutor package, Recruiter of the Guard seems like a pretty big omission. She finds all of your combo creatures, and can indirectly find your combo equipment. That alone makes her seem worthwhile.

And finally, in terms of removal, is Qasali Pridemage just not good enough?

I'm really considering building this list as I'm getting kinda tired of the deck I'm currently playing.

Bump Zhaed's comment - when u discard kozilek, his ability will trigger and your opponents can respond with legit their whole deck in their hand correct???Seems a bit fluky...

PlattBonnay it is incredibly hard to fight through those cards for this deck on the sheer fact if we lose any lands or ramp then coming back is incredibly difficult. Recruiter of the Guard is something I have been trying to squeeze in but my list is so solid right now that I am not sure where to put it(maybe replace the Talisman of Unity but being 3 mana and white is still another issue). Qasali Pridemage is just a bit too slow and predictable I prefer to have my removal at instant speed in my hand to catch people off guard though so if you want I won't say he is a bad choice.

My list here -> http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/selvala-you-got-some-splorin-to-do/

I did check. Kozilek's graveyard ability is a trigger, and passes priority. I'd rather not allow opponents respond with their whole libraries.

Do you find that when you play Seedborn Muse it's too slow? I know you have a lot of stax pieces, but you can break parity pretty easily in Selvala with stuff like Winter Orb and Hokori, Dust Drinker. My experience playing seedborn seems a little win more and I'm considering cutting it for that reason. Do you find yourself feeling the same way playing her?

natephil I know I am not OP but I feel she is very underwhelming overall and I am probably gonna cut it to see how it plays without her. I think I am gonna try Abundance instead because with Selvala I can dig for what I want if I don't like the card off the top that is revealed since it reveals first and then draws. Also synergizes really well with Sylvan Library and Skullclamp.

Thanks for the response EnividWodahs, I've never thought of Abundance! I run that in my Damia landfall deck but it seems so perfect for Selvala too. That's a great idea.Also, on the topic of Seedborn, if you're gonna cut her would you still run Quest for Renewal? It's a lot lower CMC and it's still obviously a powerful effect. I just can't tell if it's the effect that's underwhelming or if it's how late Seedborn comes down in a combo deck.

natephil It really depends on the overall style you are playing. Selvala You Got Some Splorin To Do this is my deck currently. I wouldn't care much to play Quest because it takes time to get it active and I don't plan on doing much when it isn't my turn. The ability is just very lackluster in our game plan. I don't care about untapping my stuff entirely when I have my opponents locked down.

have u thought about Natural Order or Birthing Pod. they would act as tutors or they would just get you monster cards

Dosan the Falling Leaf could be a good addition so that when you combo off your opponents can’t cast the interaction they draw. Kamahl, Fist of Krosa is just another wincon with infinite mana, but also good if you haven’t gone infinite yet. He also blows up lands if elesh norn is in play. Speaking of which, Living Plane and elesh norn combined basically wins you the game.
