Maybeboard

Welcome!

Welcome to my personal Selvala's deck.

Warning! Before beginning i must say this is NOT a cEHD deck. Power level is high enough to guarantee you a solid win but with the right balance to make it fun to play.

Every feedback is appreciated in the comment section, i'll be happy to respond to your suggestions.

So, let's get started!!

The main win condition, obviously, is to tap Selvala, Heart of the Wilds to generate an absurd quantity of mana, casting big creatures and going for the W via combat damage.

The deck by itself is a beast but our entire plan is very fragile, mainly because we are a monocolored deck and secondly and most important is because our key to victory is our beautiful and sexy Selvala, heart of the wild .

But don't you worry, we have Sylvan Safekeeper , Temur Sabertooth , Saryth, the Viper's Fang , Heroic Intervention and Lightning Greaves for single target and mass removal protection. It's not a lot but normally you don't see too many wraths if the players aren't totally new to the game, we need a couple of things but not too many.

" What about counterspells? "

Oh boy, we are ready for them with Boseiju, Who Shelters All , Cavern of Souls , Allosaurus Shepherd , Prowling Serpopard , Veil of Summer , autumn veil .Counterspells are our biggest problem, playing MonoG isn't as simple as you may think, on one side we are the strongest color for doing stuff with mana, creature and enchantment and artifact hate, on the other side, one error and you lose the game for even the stupidest reason as a Mana Tithe casted in the right moment on the right spell.

" And for single target permanents? "

Timmy my friend, Kogla, the Titan Ape , Bane of Progress , Reclamation Sage , Beast Within and the evergreen Force of Vigor are here for you, i tried with so many cards to respond to my oppo's permanents that i understood my deck doesn't need to have a lot of answers, of course this cards are a must, we need to persevere our plan, but we can't risk a defeat because we ran 0 responses. As i said, they are very important.

The spicy part of the deck starts here with as i call them " The value drops". These are all cards that will give you some sort of advantage during the game, let's see some:

Emerald Medallion is a great example for a value card, once is on the battlefield it will make our life a little bit easier, it doesn't seem much but for 2 mana you can hook to some big creatures on turn 3 or 4, with a turn 1 llanowar elf , you can Natural Order on the elf by turn 2 "transforming" your elf on a Woodland Bellower or a Craterhoof Behemoth , what a value!

The Great Henge an absolute must in a creature deck, with time it will make you draw so many cards and in the meanwhile it will boost your Selvala's production ability, what a card my boys, never run out of fuel with this big tree.

Ashaya, Soul of the Wild and Wayward Swordtooth are great for ramping, hitting land drops as much as we can is very important during all the game, we need a backup plan if something happens to our Lady Selvala, and ramp is one of the solutions.

The beautiful Saryth, the Viper's Fang, she completely stops the game by herself, making you creatures a real pain for opponents, they have hexproof, deathtouch and you can even untap Selvala or a land, best card of 2021 right there baby.

This boy is THE value, Cloudstone Curio.

What can i say, this artifact is amazing, we can do so many combos it's crazy how we can win the game so fast sometimes.

To finish the list we have the "Enchantment Value Gang" as i like to call it, composed by Carpet of Flowers , Concordant Crossroads , Sylvan Library , Greater Good and Unnatural Growth those cards, my dear netdeckers are bombs, they will always help you, and for my experience will make your oppo's mad hehe, blaming green for having such good cards.

Especially Unnatural Growth can win easily in mid-game or late-game, dropping our wincons and dobuling creature's power if the oppo's field is evolved enough.

No really, they are great, they will give you such a huge help starting with the right foot.

The next part of the spicyness comes with the MVP of the deck, going to Woodland Bellower for the most versatile cards, able to find response or just combo part in our deck and slam the on the battlefield ready to do Selvala's shenanigans. Most of the times it will enter the battlefield by turn 3-4 getting the trigger from Selvala's passive ability and drawing a card.

Honorable mention goes to Phyrexian Dreadnought, ex MVP of the deck, for 1cmc this creature can make selvala's ability produce 12G mana on the sacrifice trigger. Really usefull to start going big by turn 3 hehe.

What about combos? Do you have a combo right?

Well, yes and no. You can generate infinite mana and clear the board but it's not as easy as it seems. Most of our combos start with 3 or more permanent already on the field and most of the times without summoning sickness affecting any of our creature.

Assembling a W in MonoG is pretty hard but not impossible, the main objective of all combos is to produce infinite mana and infinite card draw, so we can cast all of our deck in very very big turn , said this here we go:

Hyrax Tower Scout + Kogla, the Titan Ape + Selvala, Heart of the Wilds .

Requires: Selvala, Heart of the Wilds on the battlefield and not summoning sickness. Kogla, the Titan Ape on the battlefield, Hyrax Tower Scout in hand. 2g available.

Steps:

  1. Activate Selvala, Heart of the Wilds making 7 g.
  2. Activate Kogla, the Titan Ape returning Hyrax Tower Scout to hand.
  3. Cast Hyrax Tower Scout and untap Selvala, Heart of the Wilds with the ETB trigger.
  4. Activate Selvala, Heart of the Wilds again with one of the g g left floating.
  5. Repeat with other colors once infinite g is achieved.

Selvala, Heart of the Wilds + Temur Sabertooth + Wirewood Symbiote + Llanowar Elves or Elvish Mystic or Fyndhorn Elves.

Requires: All permanents on the battlefield. Selvala and Elves do not have summoning sickness. You control a creature with power six or greater.

Steps:

  1. Activate Elves by tapping it, adding G.
  2. Activate Selvala by paying G and tapping it, adding at least 3GGG.
  3. Activate Wirewood Symbiote by returning Elves to your hand, untapping Selvala.
  4. Activate Temur Sabertooth by paying 1G, returning Wirewood Symbiote to your hand.
  5. Cast Elves by paying G.
  6. Cast Wirewood Symbiote by paying G.
  7. Repeat from step 2.

Cloudstone Curio + Selvala, Heart of the Wilds + Wirewood Symbiote + Llanowar Elves or Elvish Mystic or Fyndhorn Elves.

Requires: All permanents on the battlefield. Selvala and Llanowar Elves do not have summoning sickness. You control a creature with power four or greater.

Steps:

  1. Activate Llanowar Elves by tapping it, adding G.
  2. Activate Selvala by paying G and tapping it, adding at least 1GGG.
  3. Activate Wirewood Symbiote by returning Llanowar Elves to your hand, untapping Selvala.
  4. Cast Llanowar Elves by paying G.
  5. Llanowar Elves enters the battlefield, triggering Cloudstone Curio, returning Wirewood Symbiote to your hand.
  6. Cast Wirewood Symbiote by paying G.
  7. Wirewood Symbiote enters the battlefield, triggering Cloudstone Curio, returning nothing to your hand.
  8. Repeat from step 2.

There are so many ways to end the game, the one i like the most is this one:

Cast a big creature like Phyrexian Dreadnought or Phyrexian Soulgorger make at least 9 G mana, cast Tooth and Nail for its entwine cost, take out from the deck Craterhoof Behemoth + Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre or another big beater. If played right it can take out all oppo's making an OTK.

Tweaks'n'cheats

Here some usefull moves you can use during the gameplay:

Green Sun's Zenith + Dryad Arbor for an extra land drop without wasting cards.

Suggestions

Updates Add

Added the new Boseiju, Who Endures and Eldritch Evolution.

Took out a Forest and Triumph of the Hordes.

I decided to cut triumph to see if the deck can sustain a win without counting on poison counters. Play testing time!
