Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy! So here's my Elf deck, so let's Parley baby!

This is my take on the Selvala GW Elf deck. I put some of my favorite elves in here; like Joraga Warcaller, Essence Warden, and Priest of Titania to name a few. I've also added some foil and alternate art to give Selvala's party some style.

At first, I just wanted to create a simple and cheap Selesnya Elf deck that would work well with my group's metagame. I'm normally a Black/Green or a Black/Blue mage kind of guy but I figured with the sweet Parley tactic that Selvala, Explorer Returned brings to the table; I could make something nice with her. So I've tuned the deck by play testing it a lot through my friends and XMage, so I know it works well.

The overall premise behind this deck seems simple at first, but there are a few ways to drastically increase your turn efficiency. It is definitely beneficial to get Selvala out early, and there are quite a few ways to make that happen. Instead of the usual assortment of mana rocks found in other EDH setups, I use creature combos. For example, playing Birchlore Rangers early can really accelerate the amount of mana you'll be able to generate in the first stages of the game. Follow that up with a few other cheap mana creatures (Elvish Mystic, Llanowar Elves, Avacyn's Pilgrim) and you'll be able to skyrocket the amount of mana you can float. I've also included a few options to help keep your life total up there in case your opponents find your board threatening and start swinging at you. If you choose to let the damage come at you, then you can heal up with Wellwisher and Essence Warden with your supply of creatures. Also, if you are really in need of health, you can also give Instill Energy to Wellwisher and use Seeker of Skybreak to get that HP boost up to three times in one turn.

Now this life gain actually leads up to my favorite win condition of the deck. With the boosted mana that youll make from the plethora of dorks on your field; put Polukranos, World Eater out. If you need help with that, you can pitch a creature in your hand to Survival of the Fittest to grab him once youre ready. You also need Shaman of Forgotten Ways and Thousand-Year Elixir to make this combo work. Now to set it off: Use Monstrosity on Polukranos and then Formidable on the Shaman. If you do it with enough mana (provided your dorks are working and youve got some mana engine running with your artifact combos), you can wipe out your opponents creatures and then win with Formidable. Even though this may sound strange, the combo is very reliable. To get enough mana at the ready, I prefer to use Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid or Wirewood Channeler to start, then attach Umbral Mantle or Sword of the Paruns with at least four elves out to float as much Green as you need. You can also use Mirror Entity with Wirewood Symbiote plus any dork (Somberwald Sage, Mul Daya Channelers) to make the mana as well. There are plenty of options.
