Writing this page for future reference for myself as well as anyone else who would enjoy a deck like this.

Deck is still in construction and testing so the description might not match 100% with the deck yet!

Looking to make a mono green Semi-budget deck. Not trying to spend a fortune to have fun. Still knew to making decks and playing magic but I want to make my very own deck. I want to cast some really dope creatures as well as my 2 favorites; Wurmcoil Engine and Vengevine. This deck would be budget if I didnt play Wurmcoil Engine and Vengevine but I want them. Any feedback or advice would be appreciated!

Fun little Combo

I like this little combo thing but I feel it makes the deck more inconsistent and it would be much better if I just ran 2 more lands and 2 more other cards.

Gets my 2 favorite cards out turn 3. Assuming I have a perfect hand.

Turn One - Forest + Arbor Elf

Turn Two - Play another Forest + Utopia Sprawl. Tap enchanted land then untap with Arbor Elf then tap again for 4 mana to cast Vengevine.

Turn Three- Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl and 2 other lands = 6 mana for Wurmcoil Engine!

Cards in Deck

Arbor Elf: Perfect mana accelerator for Utopia Sprawl

Experiment One: Great one drop in case I don't draw into Arbor Elf or Utopia Sprawl. Helps to apply early pressure as well as gets stronger heading into the mid-game since it has evolve. Also cannot forget about the regenerate. Experiment One can also give Avatar of the Resolute a small boost and if I play it right they can boost each other!

Utopia Sprawl: Mana generator with Arbor Elf.

Rancor : Give +2 to a creature with trample for one mana and when it gets put into the field from the graveyard I can bring it back to my hand. I would be insane not to include this in my deck with almost all creatures! Only running 3 because this deck isn't designed to kill as fast as possible. I wanted to use that extra spot for another creature. Since the card will almost always be coming back to my hand I do not feel the need to run any more.

Avatar of the Resolute: So much value from a 2 mana card. Reach helps with blocking flyers if I need. The trample is also perfect with this deck too. This card works well with Experiment One and can give each other more counters if Experiment One already has a counter on it. This card also can get more counters from Strangleroot Geist. The counters part of the card is a bonus to me. If you get an extra counter that is awesome but the real value to me is in the two mana 3/2 reach with trample.

Strangleroot Geist: Super fun card. Two mana hast creature with undying! Just hope the opponent doesn't have things to remove it from the graveyard. Even if they do they have to waste resources doing so and while they are doing that you can pop more creatures down or setting up mana for larger creatures in the deck.

Eternal Witness: Gets back ANY card from my graveyard. And it is a creature that can block or attack if I need. Crazy good. Only running two because I want to play other cards.

Beast Within: Running these main board because why not. I can destroy anything on the field and replace it with a 3/3. I can always kill an opponents land to bring them behind or even one of my own to get another creature. Seems like a really good card to run in any match up but then again I am a noob.

Harmonize: I wanted to make this deck to be really impactful in the mid-game. I kept finding out that I would be running out of cards in my hand super fast because of how low my cards mana cost was. This card fits well with the deck since it is 4 mana which is great in combination with Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl + Forest. I can draw 3 cards and usually still have mana to cast more creatures. Hopefully by then I draw a Wurmcoil Engine or Garruk, Primal Hunter and look to end the game soon.

Vengevine: Such a cool card. Love the 4/3 with haste and the artwork by Swanland is amazing. For only 4 mana which I can cast turn two is perfect. Its second ability or whatever you want to call it is great with this deck since I am casting cheap creatures. Even if I cast Vengevine and attack that turn and it dies, I can play another one mana creature and he comes right back! Love the effect just the downside to it are cards that disrupt your graveyard. This card is the most expensive in the deck but I do not mind spending money on this card or Wurmcoil Engine because they are such fantastic cards. I would be running 4 in this deck but I can save $20 by not playing one. Also I do not want it to clog the hand super early game.

Garruk, Primal Hunter: Perfect Planeswalker for this deck. I can cast him as early as turn 3 but I run two because I do not want him to clog the hand either. Plus ability is great to cast more creatures onto the field to overwhelm the opponent and also can give Experiment One more counters. His down ability is also perfect since I will usually have a +4,+5,+6 creature in play with rancor. I can cast him and then draw a lot of cards if I need to. His ultimate ability is a sweet potential game ender. Wurms are also dope af.

Wurmcoil Engine: Favorite card in game. Badass artwork and text. What a sick ass card. What is not to love about this dude. I only run two because I do not need them until the later in the game but it I happen to pull off that little combo I talked about that would be awesome.

Cards I considered:

Scavenging Ooze: Not a fan of this card. It is the most played green creature right now in modern right in front of Tarmogoyf. I want to bring a sense of uniqueness to my deck and I don't want to waste it with the ooze. Also, Vengevine is a must have in my deck and Scavenging Ooze mana ability could work against it.

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx: Since I am running mono green this card is defiantly a good card. If this card was a dollar I would throw 2-3 in but since it is about $7, it isn't worth the money.

Craterhoof Behemoth: What a sweet card. I might put this card as a one of eventually but since it is $25 bucks I do not feel the need to have it yet.

Garruk Wildspeaker: Too much mana and not enough stuff to cast. I tested with this and it was too much. I had this card originally in my deck because I wanted to ramp Wurmcoil out as fast as possible but it was very inconsistent and was not good. Garruk, Primal Hunter seems to be a much better fit.

_Melira, Sylvok Outcast_: Perfect card for infect match ups, but for $10 a piece for just one sideboard match up. Not worth to me.

Kessig Wolf Run: Great card but for that little splash of red, finding mana for it would be a pain. I could run Birds of Paradise but then I would have to take other cards out. Also, I could use the utopia sprawl to make the mana red but then what if I need it to be green. At one point of this decks construction I had this card and lightning bolts. I decided to put proxy dual lands in to see how it would work. It was not worth it especially for the money. Just going to keep it one color and since I am playing three Rancor I could attach that to Wurmcoil Engine or Vengevine and give it trample. So much cheaper that way.

Kitchen Finks: Good card especially against burn decks. The problem with this card is it costs a butt ton of money. Also, I just hate the artwork. I do not want to play a card that costs $15 a piece and is not something I will have fun playing.
