Seppuku, the holy and noble act of self sacrifice, is an act bestowed on one self to restore honour in yourself and those left behind.

I started building this deck with the idea that Athreos, God of Passage is a pretty cool card. I wanted to make a deck that would utilize his ability to the fullest and hopefully annoy the opposition to death. With that in mind the natural choice of play style was to find as many ways as possible to kill my own creatures. It started out with a very Standard feel to it, mostly calling on cards like Bloodsoaked Champion and Butcher of the Horde to create my sac combos. Since then I've been introduced to and found many awesome cards to make this everything I could hope for.

Synergy plays an integral role in making everything spin quickly. Every card works together to create as many win cons as possible. I've seen this deck win in a great variety of ways but it always seems to do so in the late game.

Many of the cards I chose force me to sacrifice my creatures to gain their full affect. Liliana Vess is here for hand destruction and to get me that one card I need to destroy everything. Death Cultist to chump block/sac for slight life gain and damage helps create aggravation for any weak willed Planeswalker. Viscera Seer and Plunge into Darkness makes sure I always have ways to kill off a creature. Geralf's Messenger does massive damage and Vile Rebirth gives me something else to sac if it's needed and makes sure there is always a zombie around to bring back my buddy Gravecrawler. Of course all of these combo with Blood Artist and Athreos, God of Passage. Dark Prophecy and Grim Haruspex make sure my hand is always ready to respond to what ever is thrown at me and Grave Pact offers near unlimited field control when played with this deck.

There are a few combos available to me at any given time but by far my favorite is:

Athreos, God of Passage + Blood Artist + Killing Wave

This is the super annoying late game board wipe combo. Works particular well against any aggro deck and becomes deadly if I have multiple Blood Artist on the field. Throw down a Immortal Servitude to bring back anyone the opposition was silly enough to allow to the graveyard and you have a massive recipe for annoyance supreme. That always makes me feel fluffy inside. Super wicked! :)

The side board is mostly designed to move things to a more controlling mode of attack. I find I need to do this most often against any fast paced tempo deck. If I don't interact with their fields enough I tend to find myself wondering "What just happened to all my life????". I don't really like it when that happens.
