Use Mana Confluence instead of City of Brass , this is because Mana Confluence can evade damage if an Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth on the field.

Femme_Fatale I would but I already have the City of Brass .

Mana Confluence is better than City of Brass due to it's wording. With City of Brass, someone can tap it down to burn you, they can't with Mana Confluence

Also I really like putting Leyline of Sanctity in the side of a burn deck, as mirror matches in Burn can be really shitty

Bigbadbear88 I get that Mana Confluence is better but I have City of Brass . I like the idea of leyline in the side though. Thanks!

I've actually been considering building this exact deck, then found yours by chance. I'm putting Combust in my side, as I see large amounts of Twin and Kiki in my meta. Another sideboard card I'm putting into my build is 2x Rain of Gore , to fight off things like Kitchen Finks and Obstinate Baloth that I find give me trouble.

Lightning Bolt and Some Lookalikes Currently straight Boros until Khan's release

@Bigbadbear88 No Bump in the Night in your list? You're right that the deck gets a lot better with Bloodstained Mire .

quesobueno123, what is the metagame you play in? I probably should've asked this before suggesting cards. :)

@GlistenerAgent I'd add Black, but I can't afford fetches so I'm waiting for Khans. The finished decklist is under the "Considering Black" update.

My meta is mostly janky combos and Twin

GlistenerAgent Lots of control, storm, some twin, other burn decks, and homebrews.

Dragon's Claw for the mirror. Shrine of Burning Rage is great against control.

I actually like Dragon's Claw for the mirror and storm over Leyline of Sanctity , since it can come out quicker when you don't get the leyline on the initial draw (which can happen a lot, and you really don't want to be mulliging in a RDW deck). However, Dragon's Claw doesn't really do much against combo decks, which is one of the reasons why Leyline of Sanctity is so good. Your choice though. Is combo a real issue, or would you rather have a more consistent mirrow and storm card?

Bigbadbear88 says... #15

My problem with Dragon's Claw is that everyone has artifact hate. If the Scapeshift/Burn/Storm doesn't have enchant hate, which monored and Rakdos burn won't, you win

September 3, 2014 8:38 p.m.

They have artifact hate, but they won't bring it in against Burn just for that. Things like Ancient Grudge that can hit maybe one or two cards are too narrow to swap out for the strong maindeck pieces.

Please look at the KTK card list on this site MagicMatt13. They soon will be.

Strongly suggest Rain of Gore for sideboard! either that, Skullcrack , or Everlasting Torment .

Its_Johnny_Bravo I love rain of gore, I love Skullcrack, but I'm not really a huge fan of Everlasting Torment. It costs just slightly too much at 3, and unlike Rain of Gore doesn't punish lifegain, only prevent it. One can use a Lightning Helix as a Searing Spear with Everlasting Torment, but it burns them too with Rain. Also, damage prevention is rather rare in Modern. Maybe Ad Nauseum combo runs some? Idk

Thanks for commenting on my deck! I am feeling to throw in white so that I can run Boros Charm and such. +1!

September 7, 2014 11:45 a.m.

I feel that Shrine of Burning Rage is highly overrated. In a slow attrition matchup, you would be better off with more burn to race before they set up than to go along with them for the slow ride. I am a major advocate of Shard Volley for a last minute 1CMC 3 dmg, and a couple Flames of the Blood Hand wouldn't hurt either. If you want more creatures, Hellspark Elemental is also a pretty sweet option.

Weird strick, use Scalding Tarn instead of Bloodstained Mire , it's trick your opponent turn one. Very small advantage, bun an advantage nonetheless.

Kjartan Did you see the budget tab?

September 16, 2014 8:24 p.m.

I wouldn't consider this a budget deck if you're playing fetchlands. When you think about it, you realize this is a $400 burn deck.
