See, I tested Lavamancer extensively. I get that it does have it's points, but most times I'd rather have another burn spell.

I don't understand why you have Eidolon of the Great Revel in here. It seems like you'd just burn yourself to death.

If you're at 1 and they're dead, you still won. Eidolon must be killed or it will deal them 6+ damage, even though it can be a liability in tight situations. The latter occurs so little that it's an auto-4 of.

Eidolon burns without having to expend cards. It's a fantastic pressure tool. You can play it when they're at low life to stop them cold, as most of Modern is 3 cmc or less.

eidolon is the reason burn is tier 1.
