This deck is awesome! +1. Took a bit to get use to it during playtests but man is it fun to pilot! It kind of feels like I am piloting a standard version of eggs... Only suggestion... sometimes I really wanted a forest when cycling monitor. Maybe throw a single ton basic in there?

This combo seems really fun to play. I can't wait to see the look on people's faces when we play STANDARD, I get to 6 mana, draw my entire deck and win by casting two Approaches. I doubt any one of them knows that combo.
I playtested it against Minotaur Aggro and I managed to pull the combo off twice, although one was really lucky (2 hp, 6 mana - I have only 2 cycling cards after drawing 3, fortunately I draw two Viziers and this enables my first Shadow... etc etc). Once again, it seems really fun to play, even if just a few times.
If I get the needed cards after Amonkhet is released, I will probably use this as a fun deck.

Yes, I know it only triggers when it itself is cycled. What made you think otherwise? It still generates untapped mana and is amazing. I also know that Shadow of the Grave only returns card cycled "this turn". Why does that matter here? In no way does that hinder my deck's plan of casting New Perspectives and immediately cycling my whole deck. I really don't want to come across as rude, but did you even read the deck description or test the deck before you commented? New Perspectives also draws me 3 cards on etb, so I can definitely cast other spells for utility before I combo out.
Thanks! I'm happy you like the deck. Eggs may be boring to watch, but yea it's fun as hell to play haha. What would adding a Forest do? The purpose of monitor is to generate mana during your combo turn, not really to ramp unless absolutely necessary. Again, I have no problem with advice and ideas, I'm just not sure what the Forest would help with.
Yea this deck is pretty cool imo, and in testing has been able to pull out some pretty clutch wins. Minotaurs is pretty cool too, and a deck I do hope to see at some point. I think this deck is pretty strong, and should be able to pull its weight against even decks with hyper-aggresive starts like vehicles and (in this case) minotaurs haha. Thanks for the compliments!

Nvm you are correct! Sometimes I forget about the untap triggers... the deck is a bit of a learning curve XD

Haha no problem mate. The deck takes some practice, but is pretty quick to nail down.

Be careful about making #1 Mardu Vehicles one of your goals to beat.
I'm pretty sure that few people will be playing it after the Pro Tour, as it is just too easy to shut down with all the new cards.
I would aim more to beat decks like any of the ones in my 2. Amonkhet folder.
I think a lot of the Pros will be making brews that are Zombie heavy.

Thanks!
I know the meta will vastly shift after amonkhet drops (probably apart from sheeli combo), but if this deck can fight above par with the current aggro and combo decks then it hopefully at least stands a chance with the new decks. Most of the decks that seems playable post-akh seem to be aggressive and not run a lot of counters, meaning that this deck should be able to thrive. Thank you for the advice however, and I have yet to test vs any zombie decks, so I'll give that a few shots to test the waters. Any recommended lists I should look at?

Oh Hi, btw Scorpy.
Didn't realise you built this deck.
You can use this list to test against: zombie amonkhet

You should include a safety valve for the deck like Perpetual Timepiece.

By the way add (AKH) to the end of Approach of the Second Sun its not displaying the card to view and rather is linking another deck.
Anyways the deck looks good from the quick glance over I only have right now too look at it, +1.

hey thx
You should be able to win if you have your entire deck in hand so you shouldn't need any safety net.
Ah thanks! It was really annoying me how it kept linking me to a deck haha.

I think perpetual timepiece is a nice one of in this deck since it can definitely save you. I just lost against a geier reach sanitarium x)

My only problem is that if you run into lost legacy you are screwed. Maybe try to find a second win condition... But I really love this deck because I play jank all the time but this is really good jank. I playtested and super consistent love it!

If you see another Geier Reach Sanitarium, then try adding a Perpetual Timepiece, but for now I don't want to lose consistency and SB space to add a card that barely works in this deck.
Yea that card kinda blows for me, but usually opponents won't draw their hate cards anyways so I'm hinging on that mostly.

Love this idea! Thanks for sharing!
BTW, have you considered adding Sunscorched Desert to stop Saheeli combo with Shefet Monitor?
April 20, 2017 2:09 a.m.
What's going on with ChannelFireball?
Are they complimenting you or putting you down?
It wasn't clear to me without context.
April 20, 2017 12:20 p.m.
Thanks!
Also thanks! Sunscorched Desert is something I looked into earlier, but in the end is just a waste of space. It almost never works or helps since you have a bunch of fogs and counters anyways, and spending a Shefet Monitor can legit cost you the game.
Nah I'm just proud I came up with a sweet deck almost a whole week before a whole team of sweaty pro-players lol.
April 20, 2017 12:26 p.m.
Great idea, but it's definitely weak to aggro, so you really need some sort of sweeper in SB. +1
April 20, 2017 3:36 p.m.
Actually, it's the other way around: This deck has been great vs aggro. Like, absolutely incredible. However, it does struggle vs counterspells, so against control you really need to dedicate most of your SB slots.

You do know that Shefet Monitor only triggers when it itself is cycled right? Also I'm pretty sure Shadow of the Grave is a trap because of the two words "this turn"... this hinders your cycling plan because you have to hold up all of your cycling cards and can't do anything until you have one really cool turn.
