The Second Pre-release

We had a second, one round draft after the legitimate Pre-release and this is what I came up with. My deck that I was using for the first Pre-release was a B/U Zombie deck that went 2/1 and got me fifth place.

The Match-up:

This deck in a best two-out-of-three game went 2 and 1 against a Jeskai colored deck that used Fevered Visions and Invocation of Saint Traft .

• Game One:

  A complete blow out since my opponent couldn't stop me from using my Dauntless Cathar equipped with True-Faith Censer to beat him down.

• Game Two:

  A grueling game where many triggers of Fevered Visions dealt damage to me. The turning point of the game to my opponent's favor occurred when he used Malevolent Whispers on my Lambholt Butcher   and attacked me for 9 with it and a 3 attack creature. Over the course of the game he got me to 5 life while he had Forgotten Creation on the board. I had two untapped creatures, but he used Expose Evil on them during his main phase. He cracked the clue token and with exactly 3 mana left, drew Invocation of Saint Traft and attacked for 7.

• Game Three:

  This game ended up like the first game with me beating him down quickly with Unruly Mob with a True-Faith Censer equipped and a Dauntless Cathar , while he dealt damage to me with Fevered Visions. I played my Bygone Bishop and got a couple of clue tokens. After a couple turns of drawing, I played Always Watching , and then on the next turn, I played Slayer's Plate and ended the game.

Overall Experience:

After playing in both the Pre-releases, I feel like standard is really going to change alot. None of the cards released seem very overpowered in a way that breaks the format.
