Let me know if you think I should have left the basic mountains in or if I am running to many lands that come in tapped. Interested to hear comments related to life gain, and the direction I am going with this deck. Thanks in advance!

Bounce lands? Good/Bad?

Deathrender in Ichor Wellspring out as I have enough creatures to make the sword viable

Seriously considering Gravecrawler and Nim Deathmantle and possibly throw in Grave Titan I really like Gravecrawler in this deck I just don't have many zombies... 4 to be exact right now.

ack, the titan isn't a zombie himself... even then I really like gravecrawler

Scratch the titan... Gravecrawler and Nim Deathmantle and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed looks better

+1 to Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. Perfect Shattergang card. It's unfortunate that Cauldron Haze doesn't fit Shattergang Brothers' color identity. You could run Cauldron of Souls though if you like that mechanic and want the neverending combo.

Agreed! Cauldron looks great but at 5 I shy away. I just got a Volrath's Stronghold which should help out alot.

No hotlink makes me a little sad, but I found the card. Doesn't putting it on the top of your library kind of ruin your game tempo?

June 5, 2015 10:45 a.m.

Volrath's Stronghold does slow my tempo but gives my win conditions a second breathe of life. I have had this exact argument with a friend regarding Sensei's Divining Top which I plan to include; but together I get to stack my deck and draw on command. Your thoughts?

costs are affordable for the effects no less which I really like

June 5, 2015 10:51 a.m.

What do you think about the bounce lands and all my lands that are dual but come in tapped? Should I put more basics in? I want to stay fast but I don't think this deck will ever be really fast...

Sensei's Divining Top doesn't have as significant of as issue with that as people tend to think. It's a pretty straightforward pick me card.

Now with Volrath's Stronghold on the other hand, you're repeatedly putting it on top of your library. While it's a good card, I don't think you can rely on it as your primary means of grave return because it is very damaging to game tempo.

Shattergang Brothers is never fast, and the ability to actually cast your spells is slightly more important than casting them quickly. That being said, you should probably run slightly more basic lands if nothing else to help prevent Blood Moon.

Also, you may find Heartstone to be a useful card.

I'm getting on a plane relatively soon, so if I suddenly stop responding, that's why.

June 5, 2015 10:59 a.m.

I like Heartstone and Rings of Brighthearth mucho... I have copied this deck and in my copy I have replaced some cards with my choice aquire cards and it's getting tighter and tighter on where to fit stuff. Safe travels friend!

Blood Moon in play with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth doesn't sound so bad...

Of course, this doesn't apply to Shattergang Brothers, but one of my favorite cards in terms of ability win con commanders is Magewright's Stone. And no joke, just about nobody knows about it.

Just run Prismatic Omen/Joiner Adept! Makes it easy to tank and wipes the smile off the opponent's face who just played Blood Moon.

His face played Blood Moon, not him.

nice!

Just a heads up: Strionic Resonator doesn't pop Shattergang Brothers. I know it works with other cards in your deck, I just want to make sure you know.

June 5, 2015 11:10 a.m.

your right! I'd like to swap it for the Heartstone, or the Rings of Brighthearth eventually or fit them all; lol.. again I am getting to that place of tough love on choices

June 5, 2015 11:13 a.m.

Does Heartstone cheapen the costs of activated abilities with cards like... Tenacious Dead, Reassembling Skeleton,Bloodsoaked Champion, Tymaret, the Murder King reanimate abilities.... How about Geth, Lord of the Vault? As it stands those are the only cards that would benefit besides my general of course.

June 5, 2015 11:25 a.m.

Otherwise Thran Turbine is looking as good if not better

June 5, 2015 11:27 a.m.

InDirectX says... #25

Activated abilities = you activate them. So yes. Thran Turbine is indeed a good card and I highly recommend it. If you want more mana dorks, you might try Gilded Lotus since you're in a tri-color deck.

And now I am actually departing. Bon voyage! For the next few hours, at least.
