Commander / EDH BUG (Sultai) Casual Sacrifice Vampires

Atsuma

Maybeboard

A more casual rayami list, abuse birthing effects and sacrifice effects to rifle through value and get a boss vamp.

The core idea of this deck is to use birthing pod effects to chain through creatures of varying values so as to buff Rayami, First of the Fallen. Due to the fact that Rayami costs 4, and is the core of our voltron strategy, defensive abilities are critical. Getting rayami into play with a sac outlet and access to hexproof or indestructible is critical. Once it sticks though, start ramping in abilities. The greatest benefit of Rayami as a voltron strategy is that even if removed, all abilities will remain "attached". Thus in early turns, it is more important to get abilities onto rayami than it is to do anything threatening.

The birthing pod lines technically start at 0 with Dryad Arbor, but the optimal point to start is consistently about 2 CMC with creatures like Vault Skirge. This is because the deck lines are built around the 2->3->4 pod lines, with a couple payoff creatures for 5. it bears reiterating, you are not birthing podding for creature value, you are doing it for rayami value, and many of the creatures are themselves incredibly mediocre.

Additionally, the inclusion of Hydras such as Stonecoil Serpant and Mistcutter Hydra is that casting in the X=0 mode instantly applies those abilities to rayami.
