I should note I'll be receiving a Rakdos Raid intro pack next week, so I'll have duplicates I could add for most of those cards.

You need more consistency it is best to have 3-4 of most of the better creatures

You're right, hopefully ill be able to remedy that soon. What about noncreature spells? What type of sorceries/instants should I include? Burn spells? Removal? Pump?

Cazmeist says... #4

if you have a few burn, you don't really need removal. Personally, i'd take pump spells in an aggro deck. Maybe a few more Dynacharge , as the overload on that is pretty sweet. Creature wise, you definitely want some more Rakdos Cackler .

Pump and burn instead of removal...I have enough cards for that.

I need more of the same creatures to be honest too.

So, any advice? Especially with regards to sorceries and instants to use. (I will be updating my deck with the new cards soon)

heres some more advice. Take out Utvara Hellkite . if you haven't won or are on the road to victory with an aggro by the time you have the mana to play it, you've probably lost. Diregraf Ghoul is always good to run in an aggro with black, 1 mana you get a 2/2, and the fact it goes in tapped isn't a problem, as you're not going to be blocking on the first turn anyway.

You're right, I haven't even used Utvara once. I included him because I wanted to use a mythic rare, heh.

Good shout on Diregraf Ghoul. I think I have one copy of him.

And thanks.

Removed:Utvara Hellkite

Auger Spree

Disentomb

And I added some pump spells which I own.

I haven't received Ramrod Raid yet, I need it to add more of the same creatures for consistency.

I wish I had better burn spells...

add 4 vexing devils and 4 undying evil to make an excellent combination

xuerebx says... #13

Indeed it would, but it's over my budget unfortunately. Anything from my maybeboard I should switch around?

Rakdos Cackler is better than Vexing Devil anyway - in the early game you want to be relying on gaining board control, not direct damage. I would swap Rakdos Shred-Freak for Thrill-Kill Assassin but you already have Gore-House Chainwalker which is better than both. You could consider Grim Roustabout for super cheap regeneration and providing some good blocking - this should stop things from all going wrong if you don't draw your hellsteads. You could also consider Fervent Cathar and Searing Spear .

I would say go up to 22 lands, but that's the number I feel comfortable running. Also it would really really help if you had Blood Crypt .

I find the shred freak's haste ability very convenient though, which is why I left him. Of course the thrill-kill's deathtouch makes him a great blocker.

What about (A)? Should I scrap that idea?

As for shocklands, I wish I had some, but they're too expensive for me!

Thank you for replying. So far I have performed pretty well with this deck.

Went up to 22 lands and added 3x Hellhole Flailer . Removed the Bloodfray Giant although I found their trample useful.

And I need some more efficient burn spells...

Desecration Demon is quite a good finisher. Cheap too considering he's 6/6 and flying.

I think I need more consistency though. Rakdos Shred-Freak I would remove, but his haste helps a lot.

Any tips? :)

Stab Wound is worse than both Murder or Pillar of Flame and Searing Spear .

January 15, 2013 1:33 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #20

So for burn there is Flames of the Firebrand , Pillar of Flame , Annihilating Fire , Searing Spear , Mizzium Mortars , Brimstone Volley and, card:Devil's Play.

For control elements I would add 4x Dreadbore , 4x Tragic Slip .

January 15, 2013 1:39 p.m.

xuerebx says... #21

More dreadbores are on the way ;) I'll swap them for the stab wound, and choose some efficient burn spells from your list once I get my hands on them.

Thanks for the tips. :)

Also, what about creatures? I have some ideas in mind.

January 15, 2013 2:54 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #23

4x Rakdos Cackler , 4x Gore-House Chainwalker , 4x Thrill-Kill Assassin or 4x Rakdos Shred-Freak (or some combination thereof - depends how much you value haste of a much higher toughness), 4x Hellhole Flailer , 3x Bloodfray Giant , 2x Desecration Demon , 2x Carnival Hellsteed (2x Thundermaw Hellkite would be better but would also break the bank).

Ill see what I can do. :) thanks man!

the Gore-House Chainwalker is a guaranteed 3/2 if your willing to sacrifice the block, a card I might consider in its place would be Reckless Waif  Flip this is not a guaranteed 3/2 but it still holds the block and with the current state of standard it makes a viable first turn drop that will most likely flip into a 3/2 the turn it can attack.
