How about Midnight Banshee , Visara the Dreadful , Kokusho, the Evening Star , Korlash, Heir to Blackblade and especially Nirkana Revenant and Crypt Ghast as further mana boosts with good additional abilities.

Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed is always good in mono black.

@ nexuskid: The snow covered lands are in there for Extraplanar Lens so nobody else except you gets a boost from it.

ah ok.. one more question. can you use crypt ghast... extort says black or white.. and it has white in it. does that actually work?

@Nexuskid - I've asked that same question for sometime, myself. The answer I got was yes, because it is in the reminder text and therefore doesn't count to the card's color identity. One of my friends is a judge, and stated that that is accurate.

As for the deck, Chromatic Lantern could be dropped for a Coalition Relic, if you want a little more versatility. Additionally, Vampiric Tutor is another really good tutor that I suggest. Overall, this deck looks pretty solid. Nice job.

Looks slow. I'd play more cheap mana rocks to start making relevant plays before turn 5 or whatever.

Worn Powerstone, Everflowing Chalice, and Mind Stone are good ones.

how does this stack up against u/w control? My issue with mono red, mono black, or r/b is the lack of enchantment removal. I've been completely shut down by Solitary Confinement.

yeah, you'd do well to get All Is Dust and Karn Liberated.

some enchantments can be annoying but i haven't had trouble with any control decks except for azami

Liliana of the Dark Realms could be useful in this deck

Liliana of the Dark Realms and Liliana of the Veil will both be great for this deck.

Of the veil would be nice in here but I dont know what i would take out for it, dark realms is underwhelming as people will kill it before it can get going

why snow-covered swamps?

Because of Extraplanar Lens , it let's me benefit while others don't as non mono black players won't play them normally

I seriously see no reason to not be running Corrupt in here. Among other suggestions made, I really think many suggestions that MartialArt made are insanely good, albeit relatively expensive, some of them.

No, Corrupt targets the number of Swamps in general. This includes anything non-swamp that is turned into a Swamp by Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth . Any mono-black EDH wants to run it, especially by it only being six mana for a potentially HUGE strike.
