My mono black commander is a fun spirit from Betrayers of Kamigawa, Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker.

It's an Aristocrats deck with some Legendary and Artifact shenanigans thrown in for fun.

Some things to note:

• The latest any sac shenanigans should be done should be during the second main phase, that way they come back during that turn's end step

• If your little guys get pumped up with a gauntlet of power or a bad moon from your opponents, you're essentially screwed as Shirei's effect does nothing when our creatures have 2 or more power. The only out for that we have are the -1/-1 effects we have to shrink our guys down enough to make Shirei's effect work.

• Though the deck is built more around Shirei, the large group of Legendary creatures in the deck can serve as backup commanders, alternate win conditions or as card advantage until Shirei can hit the field again.
