Shorikai's Token Army

The goal of this deck is to use Shorikai, Genesis Engine and other token generators to reach a critical mass of 15 tapped creatures, and then untap them all with Halo Fountain.

I chose Shorikai for this deck for 4 reasons: - His token generating effect is relatively cheap at 1 mana for one token, - He can also draw cards, helping me filter through the deck, - He is an artefact, so is easier to untap cheaply than a creature which allows him to be used again, - He is a vehicle, so can tap all of my other creatures without going to combat.

Point 4 is particularly relevant, because if Halo Fountain was destroyed after I tapped for combat but before I activated Halo Fountain, the results could be catestrophic.

Token Generation

Shorikai, Genesis Engine - 1 mana and tap for 1 token. Simple enough. Prodigy's Prototype - Whenever a vehicle attacks, create a token. Typically this will be done by attacking itself, as Shorikai wants to be tapped for his ability. Parhellion II - Whenever it attacks, create 2 tokens. 8 mana so normally a late game option, but can be cheated out using Arcum Dagsson. Mirrex - Effectively 4 mana for one token. Expensive, but there is sometimes mana to spare. Call the Coppercoats - An upset or surprise card for when one or more opponents have significant board presence. Frequently the most mana-efficient generator. Invasion of Segovia   - 3 mana for 2 tokens, and an additional creature when the battle is defeated. Mechanized Production - 1 token every upkeep. Thopter Spy Network - 1 token every upkeep. Slower than I would like, could replace. Belisarius Cawl - 1 token for tapping two other artefacts. Not the primary use of Belisarius. Canoptek Scarab Swarm - Primarily graveyard hate, but also generates tokens. Charismatic Conqueror - Gives opponents the choice of entering untapped, or giving me tokens. Monastery Mentor - 1 token every time I cast a non-creature spell. Nesting Dovehawk - Populates for 1 token every combat. Sai, Master Thopterist - 1 token for every artefact cast. Anointed Procession and Mondrak, Glory Dominus - Token Doublers.
