Because of how many low CMC cards in your deck Shardless Agent seems somewhat of a wildcard. If there was a cascade card that had CMC of two it would be better. I think it's a three mana ramp card (although would that be that bad?)

Transmute Artifact seems somewhat decent. Although most of your artifacts are ramp artifacts, so you're still sacrificing a ramp artifact for another ramp artifact. Granted Chrome Mox to Mana Crypt would be helpful in the long run. I haven't truly needed more than three mana to mill my deck, then flashback Dread Return, ect.

What would you take out for those?

Worst case it gets me a counterspell, Best case Demonic Tutor, likely outcome mana dork. Its a two for one most the time. I could also then Transmute Artifact into Birthing Pod or Spellskite or Mesmeric Orb (if I bring that back). No clue what I would take out. I have a fair amount of topdeck manipulation to guide its cascade too.

Unrelated queation: Are there any multiple creature reanimation spells that are instants besides Wake the Dead?

There's one in white which doesn't help here. But otherwise Chainer, Dementia Master, Corpse Dance, necromancer, Coffin Queen, Betrayal of Flesh, and Strands of Night. I'm not sure which of those would actually be worthwhile in the deck.

Also, When, and why, did Spellskite become a part of the deck?

IDK about Shardless Agent. It seems like it would be decent, but I'll test it out and let you know. As for multiple creature reanimation, there is no direct instant version of Victimize (at least to my knowledge). Closest things I can think of are Rescue from the Underworld, Strands of Night, and Champion of Stray Souls.

So when I first saw Torrential Gearhulk I thought it cast instants AND Sorceries from the graveyard and about pooped myself. I was thinking Dread Return this and grab Living Death ftw. Oh well there are no instants that work except Rescue from the Underworld in a janky next turn sort of way.

Spellskite: Was just added. It can protect Food Chain, Hermit Druid and a number of other important permanents. I added it to better support Mox Opal and to up my creature count. I am thinking proactive protection might be my best bet for my combos.

Yea my brood is down to like 28 creatures. Maybe I got it back to 30. While greatly based on yours I still thought that was low. Looking into other things to bring that back up.

By the way I forgot to ask is your deck made for 1v1? Not necessarily the ban rules, but in general? Because in plpaytesting myself, the Necrotic Ooze combo can only truly take out two opponents. Possibly 3 (granted for my build), but with so many low CMC stuff it only added up to be barely enough to take out 3. Granted against 4 or 5 opponents things are going to suck and you have too much to worry about. But being that you HAVE to get that combo early, and using it to take out one or two people in the beginning, means that it is absolutely useless past turn 6 or 7 as you probably won't have enough permanents in your deck for it to matter.

Also weird and unrelated question. Are you, in any way, into competitive modern?

It's made for multiplayer 4 person pods. The necrotic ooze combo can kill 3 opponents if done early enough, especially if they use a full compliment of fetches and other life for power cards like me. It would not be viable for more than 3 opponents or after turn 4. I think at least 30 creatures is essential or sidisi becomes nothing but a food chain outlet. Ideally I would like to get her to about 34

What about competitive modern?

I have never broken into modern. I made a few semi competitive decks on tappedout, but I could never bring myself to buy the cards because I have noone to play modern with and I have kids so spending a night at a modern event every week is a no go unless I want to get a divorce.

lol fair enough. I have a friend whose about to have a baby, so he's playing all the magic he can, in knowing that he won't be able to very soon. I saw your modern decks and was just curious.

Pheardemons if you have a building question or questions about it in general, let me know. I judge a lot of modern events and feel like i know the meta very well.

Been testing Shardless Agent, and its been.... ok. Yeah nothing groundbreaking to say by that. I broke down what all it could get into a couple categories: Counterspell/protection, Filtering, Creature Ramp, Ramp, Tutor, and Other. Then I did 100 sample runs to just get an idea of the numbers. Normally it will grab a tutor of some kind, followed closely by Creature Ramp, then regular ramp. I do want to say that added together the ramp categories outdo tutor by a significant bit, so if you add Shardless Agent in you should normally expect it to find you ramp of some kind.

If you are looking for a delayed ramp tutor it could be something to think about, but doesn't seem too great. With that being said it is a good bit of fun to play Shardless Agent into Reanimate and win.

Catgroove: Thanks man! I appreciate the testing and detailed description.

No problem. Glad to help in any way I can. If you ever want me to run numbers on anything, or want the numbers from this test just ask.

I definitely will Catgroove! An affinity for stats is an extremely useful skill set that I will gladly call upon. If you would like assistance on any of your decks I am always happy to take a look at them.

Catgroove if you wouldn't mind taking a look at my deck, I like to draw a lot- Arjun Primer and let me know of anything you feel i could improve on as far as consistency according to the number, please let me know.

Well thanks Lilbrudder. I honestly haven't been playing too long (somewhere between Born of the Gods and Journey into Nyx) and am just getting out of high school and going into the Navy, so sadly I don't have the money or a collection to really build anything aside from homebrew standard stuff. That being said my LGS was a huge influence on me getting into EDH and they, for better or worse, run some pretty cutthroat EDH decks. So I've really enjoyed working on theory behind decks to make then as evil as possible with my limited knowledge of the older card.

Sure maddoxmtg. I'm going to ask some questions on that deck's page though before I do anything as to not distract from this deck.
