Yup you better believe sarkhan made it into it. Playset of butchers, hordelings.

And a nice removal suite ;)

Good Im glad I look forward to playing it, as I think its the deck I need to learn inside and out. It really feels like it might be the foil for my deck.

I know the Stormbreath's are like your kryptonite as it dodges all your lockdown's, I think Hero's Downfall or like we talked about earlier a couple Murderous Cut.

But i think the decks will trade off fairly evenly and be a good matchup of potentially the best midrange has to offer right now

yeah basically that. the other option I have vs SBD especially in Mardu midrange is 2 more charms from the side and just straight up draw race for End Hostilities, which is going to be the backbreaker along with Bile Blight vs Mardu Midrange. Where I also had trouble vs SBD was in R/G Monsters. I beat the deck but it was the only win I had where I felt a little lucky. Game 1 I fetched a downfall off of liliana to deal with SBD and game 2 I thoughtseized 2 of them. SBD is most definitely the decks kryptonite. I can't wait for Crux of Fate

I should add: quite a few players told me after our matches that they were cautious to board in Back to Nature vs me. I know B2N has been a big pain lately for constellation/devotion decks alike, and was obviously a card that was high on my radar entering the weekend. It was nice to be told that the style in which my deck played out made B2N a much worse card than it otherwise would be. Something to keep in mind.

One should expect to see some number of Hushwing Gryff if playing vs white with this build. Glare of Heresy is always good to replace Erase for games 2 and 3 if they're on the play. (You won the first match)

Just on a side note, Banishing Light cannot target creatures you control

December 10, 2014 6:19 a.m.

I feel like this deck doesn't have a win con. Try Wingmate Roc or if you want to go +1/+1 try High Sentinels of Arashin

RichardVein says... #11

Seige rhino is the win con. Its just a fun combo deck lol

Have you considered adding more Siege Rhinos?

Caligula says... #13

That's just the thing, it's not just a fun combo deck. The synergy and interactions in this deck make it unbearably effective.

This deck is no joke. If your a smart player, test it against the meta and you'll see just how good it is.

I seriously had to make a brew just to beat this deck.

It's not really 'combo' in the true sense of the word it just has nice synergies, and several of the cards have multiple uses. It's true midrange control/utility belt at it's best. I've tried a multitude of different things (heres looking at you, Wingmate) both in and out of the main and sideboard.

I find this version to have pretty decent pressure and excellent control. It creates a lot of tough decisions for your opponent while allowing you near free reign creativity wise. I like all of the interactions it has both with the opponent and with itself.

I added skybind and grey merchant to my version. I only play 2 headed though...so I habe more time t get my mana out normally.

Seems pretty legit. Love janky decks that actually work!

Caligula suggests adding Reviving Melody and I like his idea. I need some help thinking up what to remove.

4 End Hostilities seems like too many given you're already running pretty much all the removal you possibly could. I get that it kills your Siege Rhino which you could Whip of Erebos back in, but seriously how often does that happen? I'm sure your Rhinos will be removed otherwise. Erase is definitely sideboard material. It just sits in my hand, whereas Utter End is always useful, or even Abzan Charm if you want your deck to suck like mine My Rhino Has A First Name...

December 16, 2014 2:55 a.m.

PreZchoICE1 says... #20

End Hostilities isn't included for me to kill rhino- I'm only running 12 creatures so I need a reset button in case their army outnumbers mine. Erase is great mainboard I'm also a fan of utter end however Im much more partial to the casting cost for erase. If I see no enchantments game 1 I side them out. Considering the top decks in the format are all running enchantments (whip, ascendancy) erase mainboard isn't terrible. Abzan Charm is already included in my sideboard.

Yeah I totally stumbled across Reviving Melody just cruising through one of my boxes. Pretty damn good card actually.

Especially in this format. =)

No Skybind? This is probably a way better way to repeatedly bounce your Rhino.

December 16, 2014 2:33 p.m.

PreZchoICE1 says... #23

No Skybind..... this isnt a kitchen table deck, this is a deck Im trying to play in high level standard tournaments. Feel free to make your own rhino deck featuring Skybind though, and please be sure to let me know what your results are with it. Another thing about Skybind is it has to target something. I think it would be a lot more versatile it it said 'you may exile target nonenchantment permanent'. Its casting cost isnt aggressive at all, its very straightforward and if it's your main way to flicker rhino people will sideboard accordingly and bring in erase/reclamation sage/glare of heresy, anytime you cast Skybind in second and third game it will die.Thats a suspension field and a banishing light, mana wise. Its always better to be doing two things in a given turn than one thing.

PreZchoICE1 says... #24

sorry cklise the deck is janky but not quite Skybind janky. What would you remove to add Reviving Melody?

December 16, 2014 5:19 p.m.

Caligula says... #25

What about dropping out 1x End Hostilities and 1x Banishing Light for 2x Reviving Melody?

Seems like it wouldn't hurt anything. I only say BL over Suspension Field because you can target your own stuff with the field.
