Here is my modern goblin list. I won two FNM with it. Before getting too surprised and mad at my choices, here is some explanations

Maindeck :

• Signal Pest : it is an all-star in the deck, it can not be killed by being block, so his anthem ability is pretty good. Also, it combo nicely with the two bushwhacker.

• Dragon Fodder and Krenko's Command : they help me build the little army that I need with the bushwhacker and the Goblin Chieftain.

Sideboard :

• Blood Moon : it is good against many decks, but I actually like to side-in it against naya burn (minimum half of their spells are shutdown).

• Magma Spray : against Kitchen Finks and other ultra aggro decks (zoo and affinity)

• Goblin Grenade : side-in it when I feel that I need to have more big removals (junk)

• Hordeling Outburst : against control match up because it help me to re-build a good board presence after a clean the board

• Dragon's Claw : it is just amazing against burn

• Smelt : good against affinity and lantern control. I put it in place of any destroy artifact because it cost only one to play

• Spell Pierce : it is the card that makes the deck look strange, but it is his secret weapon and what make the deck competitive. Any deck that have to play a lot of creatures are vulnerable to wrath effects, mono-red decks more than any other one because it have nothing to protect his battlefield and it have a lot of difficulties to re-build an army. So, Spell Pierce can counter the clean the board spell, while being an excellent tool against burn, and other decks that have a lot of noncreature spells (delver decks, for example). Also, the card does not slow you down because it only cost one mana.

I am not playing any Goblin Guide and I am only playing one Cavern of Souls because I do not have enough budget to buy those.

Little tip to play the deck : if you are playing against a deck that can kill all of your creatures in one single turn (with Damnation for example), keep some fuel (Dragon Fodder, bushwhackers, etc) in your hand. So, if it clean the battlefield with a sweeper, you will stille have some cards to play after.

Note : If you want a budget version, simply trade the Spell Pierce by some other good sideboard cards and the nonbasic lands by mountains.
