Silumgar's Dragonless Dragon Tribal

Commander / EDH Aggro Changeling Control Dragons UB (Dimir)

eatmyhoge

Silumgar's -1/-1 ability is super powerful, but stuck in colors with lousy options for dragons. Rather than jam our deck full of overcosted Air Elementals, let's leverage the fact that his color identity provides us four different ways to turn all our creatures into dragons in Arcane Adaptation, Maskwood Nexus, Conspiracy, and Xenograft and run actual good creatures. Our fake dragons also need to be attacking, so the deck is chock full of creatures that want to do just that, every Shadowmage Infiltrator variant under the sun.

Once everything's up and running, the deck starts drawing multiple cards every combat step while handing out Plague Winds like candy on Halloween. A splash of countermagic protects the soft-lock and allows us to overextend our board.

Updates Add

In playing, I found the deck's most common issue was not being able to assemble a critical mass of dragon attackers, so extreme measures were taken to up its body count, even at the expense of removing EDH mainstays such as Necropotence and Rhystic Study. If there's an effect I want, I should find a way to attach an attacking body to it. Examples:

Phyrexian Arena -> Bloodgift Demon

Hedron Archive -> Trinket Mage (fetching Sol Ring)

Mask of Memory -> Tandem Lookout

Go for the Throat -> Shriekmaw

Coastal Piracy -> Deepfathom Skulker

36 of the deck's 99 cards now create a creature in one form or another.
