Grixis but no Kolaghan's Command?Other than that I like it, I've been wanting to make a grixis dragon build but never got around to it

also Grixis dragons are super strong and awesome in standard at the moment. Completely trumps Abzan control, Thopters, and mono red. or my test plays against friends were extremely lucky. deck hasnt seen elves yet but its totally awesome. definietly worth the time to build

I feel like you should have some sort of counter spell in the deck as well. Stubborn Denial is pretty much always turned on as well as Silumgar's Scorn, bit idk I haven't play tested yet. The blue mage in me get his Jimmy's rustled when he plays blue that doesn't have counters lol

I played around with it a little but i found that having removal worked out better in the long run. field clearing is key so i would have to drop Foul-Tongue Invocation and Draconic Roar which are much stronger options and 2-for-1 spells. maybe after rotation it'll get a blue overhaul

Keep Silumgar's Command in mind for rotation as well. With Hero's Downfall leaving it's gonna be like the only thing that destroys planeswalkers

at that mana cost i would rather pay one more for Dragonlord Silumgar and take control of it. i think its just a too expensive mana cost to keep up competitively

Yeah but the dragon lord can be removed somewhat easily while the command has negate built in alongside creature and permenant removal. I've played with Silumgar's Command before and it's effects are powerful, but you need lower costed spells to play alongside it if you want it to fit on your mana curve after turn 5, however I think it would pair nicely with most of your current lower drop instant and sorceries. Also playing black but no Thoughtseize...

Thoughtseize is fantastic, but also a 23 dollar card and im not quite ready to put up the cash for 3 of em. also the thing about that command's mana cost is it takes the place of a late game threat id rather be putting out. spending 5 mana for destruction alone and it not being Crux of Fate which I can play for the same amount of mana, clear out non dragons, and swing for the kill on any walker they could put out
