Sideboard

Anyway the list I have so far goes a little something like this:

4 Judge's Familiar

Good one drop. Flying, and good utility. I was running Dryad Militant, but even though we're an aggro deck, the 2/1 body was simply not worth it. It just ended up dying to everything without providing much value. Putting thier Anger of the Gods off for one more turn with JF was just awesome, and his evasion lets him actually get his damage through.

4 Soldier of the Pantheon

Auto-include. This guy is the best one drop white has seen in awhile. If anyone has any reason not to run him please let me know, because I dont see it.

4 Precinct Captain

I'd probably put this guy in if he was just a 2/2 first striker for WW, but token generation on hit? Shiiiit. It goes so well with our anthem effects they end up being very relevent, and being able to Brave the Elements the tokens is cool as well.

3 Imposing Sovereign

This is one of those cards you look at and go "Eh, maybe. Seems kinda janky." Then you look for something else to put in. When you actually play her though, you find out how good she is. Aggro deck? LOL. Whip of Erebos? GG nerds.. She really does let you get damage through that you really have no business hitting them with. On the other hand, she's probably my weakest creature, so I'm up for suggestions. 3-of because her ability doesn't stack.

3 Fiendslayer Paladin

I didn't like putting this guy in. He brought our curve up witch I wasn't happy about, but I had after I found out how hidden-tech Path to Bravery was. Not to mention, he's just a well-tested good white card. This guy puts us up to 7 first-stikers, gives us 3 forms of life-gain to proc Path, and is really fuckin hard to kill outside of straight combat.

3 Banisher Priest

This guy is a catch-all (what's a Stormbreath Dragon? wait.. what's a Blood Baron?). You'll usually just hold him in hand until they drop something you can't deal with. You're really gonna want to have a Brave the Elements in hand when you play him though, because they're really gonna want that Desecration Demon Back, let me tell you.. Definately becomes the lightning rod of your team. 3-of because you want one when you need one, but you never want him just to have him.

3 Xathrid Necromancer

Oh my god. This mutha fucka right hur. The whole reason to even go splash black. He adds lots of redundancy to our plan of beating face, and keeps our board state full of dudes. Every creature we have besides the Judge's Familiar interacts with it so kill spells and board wipes really hurt alot less. Not to mention the fun-fact that thier abilities stack. If you ever get multiples of this guy on the field, your creatures might as well be chisled into the damn table. Gotta watch out for exile effects, but that's why we have..

4 Brave the Elements

The only thind these things don't really protect you from are supreme verdicts. Your guys should be safe for any turn you have one of these in hand, and for one W, you really can't beat that. Doesn't hit Xathrid or his zomble slaves, but those are your secondary line of defence anyway. This card is one of the reasons to run WWb instead of RDW. Easy 4-of.

3 Orzhov Charm

So this cards does serveral good things for us (Orzhov Charm targeting Judge's Familiar in graveyard, sac JF in response to your Sphinx's Rev for 7? It happens..). It is a good removal spell. The life loss kinda is a bummer, but we do spot a psuedo life gain suite so it's not to bad. Being able to bounce one of our guys is cool, but I've personally never used it. 3-of because while relevant, isn't one of our better cards.

3 Path of Bravery

I personally really like this card in here. I've caught some flak about it a few times now, but I really have to argue for it to stay. Dropping this on turn three really helps us beat the faster aggro decks. The anthem pumps our guys beyond theirs, and the lifegain reallt cuts their damage. It makes mutavault a bigger threat against control. Our guys push farther out of burn range. It let's our first strikers really do some work on decks whose creatures outclass ours. I mean, it's not the best card, but we have enough synergy with it to give it a spot in the main board. It would be a 2-of but it stacks with itself (dat lifegain doe) and with of other anthem:

2 Spear of Heliod

This is our worst card. I've gone back and back again between this and the whip, but the spear simply is a better fit for our deck (not to mention much easier to cast). I've had people tell me I should trade these in for another Path + FiendSlayer/Necromancer, but the anthem effects are just so good in this deck that I like having a non-conditional one. Plus, while not the best way to deal with things at all, the tap ability is nice to have as an option when you're top-decking. On the other hand, it is competing with other very good cards for our 3-drop slots, and I infact feel like that may be the best argument for getting rid of it. 2-of because it, well.. did you read this?

4 Mutavault

Good card and if you read /r/spikes I'm sure you know why. I put four in here for a few reasons though. First off, we're basically a mono-color deck so we don't mind the colorless mana despite our common WW costs. With Path and/or Spear, this thing gets to be pretty damn good value. Also with Path, it lets us gain more life by attacking even while hitting land drops. And finally, and my personal favorite.. it counts as a human for Xathrid Necromancer. Fun AND interactive!

4 Godless Shrine4 Temple of Silence11 Plains1 Swamp

Lands, man. Gotta have them becuase not legacy.

Now to the sideboard:

1 Xathrid Necromancer

He's pretty good, huh? Yeah, I think so too. Might want 4 against control.

4 Yoked Ox

I sideboard out Judge's Familiar for them against heavy aggro, but only because my LGS is on this red/x deck master race trip at the moment. You could easily swap this out for something else as our life gain and speed lets us handle aggro well already..

3 Celestial Flare

Have you ever heard of Stormbreath Dragon? How about Blood Baron? Orzhov Charms usually trade out with these.

3 Dark Betrayal

Same thing as above but for Nightviel Specters and Dececration Demons. Could probably be something better.

4 Rootborn Defenses

This is like Brave the Elements but for Control match-ups as it negates Supreme Verdict. You're gonna want the Brave's as well though so it usually takes the place of the Sovereigns and an Orzhov Charm.

===================================================

As you can tell, my sideboard is shitty and hastily put together, but it has been working for me. Thanks for reading all of that at any rate. Now, what do YOU think? What did I miss? Did I miss a clutch card that should be a no brainer? Will this ever be a tier 1 contender? Should I just sleeve up mono black/blue?
