So I was directed to your deck after seeing your forum post about seeking help against your brother's Talrand deck.

First off, your average CMC is 2.79 and you're running 41 lands. Cut some of those lands out! You could easily get away with running ~36. Next, replace some of your lands with multicolor lands. Temple Garden, Windswept Heath, Sunpetal Grove, Brushland, Wooded Bastion, Command Tower, Reflecting Pool, City of Brass, Mana Confluence, and Forbidden Orchard are all great options and come into play untapped.

Next, let's talk acceleration. Throw in Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Explosive Vegetation, and Skyshroud Claim. These will all help you throw your lands out faster which lets you get ahead of the game. Exploration and Burgeoning speak for themselves.

I'll continue into the next post because I've hit the suggestion limit for a single post.

Mana rocks - You're average CMC is really low, so you probably won't need too many. You have Selesnya Signet already which is great, but you should always run Sol Ring in any commander deck - period.

You have very little removal - this is problematic. Beast Within is a no-brainer but cards like Hurricane and Windstorm will be devastating against Talrand. Oblivion Ring, Banishing Light, Path to Exile, and Swords to Plowshares should also be auto-includes.

Grand Abolisher will help slow Talrand down as he won't be able to play spells on your turn.

Expensive includes:

Just an afterthought - Ghostly Prison, Norn's Annex, and Windborn Muse will help protect you against an army of drakes.

Speaking of Muse cards, Seedborn Muse is a must.

Another creature that supplies you with mass removal is Terastodon.

Other than these creatures I can't really help too much because I don't know many others in your colours off the top of my head.

Hope I was able to help!

Can you please explain to me why Sylvan Library is so good? I just don't understand why it's used nearly everywhere. I'm quite new to commander, only starting a couple of months ago, and I just can't understand why it's good.

sylvan library is just crazy card advantage. 3 cards a turn is really good. the fact that it's a drop 2 compounds it's value. Now if you pair it with Abundance you get three cards of your choice of type and you lose no life.

Ohhhhhhh that's why! I never factored in that its CMC is 2! And wow, with Abundance, it sounds crazy.

Abundance is good on it's own. it also stops you from milling out. because you never draw the cards.

Sorry, I just got home from work.

Sylvan Library is a phenomenal card because it helps fix your draw step on each of your turns. You draw 3 cards instead of one and put the most beneficial of the 3 into your hand. If more than one of those cards are beneficial, you have the option to pay life in order to keep 2-3 of the drawn cards.
