First saw this deck on themanasource youtube channel as a budget simic deck. I've been in love with simic ever since I started playing the game. My first ever deck was a simic event deck I bought at a local magic shop. I made some every minor changes to the deck, but I'd still recommend visiting the youtube video links at the end of the description.

Creatures Spells:

First off the one drops Cloudfin Raptor and Experiment One are both every solid cards and are often played in other decks such as mono green and blue. Everything else in the deck will evolve them meaning as early as turn 3 you can start swinging in for a lot of damage. Plus they both bring something special to the table. Experiment One after getting 2 +1/+1 counters can regenerate himself avoiding burns spells, kill cards, and field wipes. And Cloudfin Raptor's flying is great..... ya do I really need to explain why flying is good? One quick note on turn one if you have a Cloudfin Raptor and Experiment One in your opening hand if possible play Cloudfin Raptor first. The evasion flying gives you is stronger early game plus Experiment One can evolve it next turn.

Next two drops only one creature in this slot that being Gyre Sage. Its big enough to evolve our one drops plus as the game goes on can provide us with a lot of mana. And since everything higher then a 2 drop is bigger then it the evolve will really pay off mid to late game.

Three drops is when the deck heats up with Renegade Krasis and Elusive Krasis. Elusive Krasis is a simple card an unblockable creature with high toughness. This means that Elusive Krasis can both evolve and be evolved by most creatures in the deck. He can prove to be a consistent source of damage or a beastly blocker. While Renegade Krasis is the corner stone of the deck beefing up almost every creature in this deck. He is critical to get out and keep out on the field as early as possible. Quick Tip when a creature enters the field let all the evolves trigger first then his ability.

Again only one creature in the four drops but still a every important one that being Crowned Ceratok. The only creature in the deck that can't innately gain counters. But its ability to give all creatures with counters trample pushes this deck over the edge with other aggro decks or BS stall decks. Plus curves out perfectly with your Renegade Krasis.

Arbor Colossus is one of the most under appreciated cards in stranded right now but is a super solid five drop. first off a 6/6 for 5 is already good but combine that with the fact he'll almost always evolve all our creatures makes him even better. Plus if Monstrous, he gains unreal synergy with Crowned Ceratok and Renegade Krasis.

Finally our X drop Mistcutter Hydra, this card PUTS IN WORK. Blue is very strong and popular right now and Mistcutter Hydra craps all over that with protection form blue and being uncounterable. The haste it has means it can be dropped one turn to then go for a all in swing. Gains trample as long as Crowned Ceratok is on the field. And is useful at all stages of the game. Play it turn 4 to evolve your Renegade Krasis or use that Gyre Sage to make it a huge beast and anywhere in between. An absolute most have in this deck.

Non Creature Spells:

Ordeal of Thassa works great with this deck at a two drop it not only beefs up our creatures but gives us card draw. Quick Tip even if the creature has 3 or more counters said creature most attack once before ordeal will pop.

The final spell card in the deck is Give & Take both costing three mana this card is very versatile beefing up your creatures and giving you draw power. While Give is pretty self explanatory Take has a lot of good uses. Float the mana on a Gyre Sage then remove its counters. Or remove the counters on a Renegade Krasis to keep evolving it. Lots of cool possibilities.

Land Base:

16 Forests 9 IslandsTHAT'S IT this deck needs to keep the pressure on. You cannot waste time not having a land ready to play the turn its out. Because this is a budget deck there are no Breeding Pools but they would help the deck. But please DO NOT ADD GUILD GATES OR SCRY LANDS. They are to slow and will cost you games.

Final Notes:

Having a competitive deck does not usually mean one has a stronger deck. Competitive decks are built to be consistent. And this is a budget decks greatest weakness. I have fought mono blue, mono black, and Boros mid range with this deck and have won. If this deck hits it's curve perfectly then there isn't much they can do to stop you but not every game will you be able to do so. There will be times you can't draw the right mana you got all your one drops back to back etc.... But when this deck works IT WORKS.

One problem most Aggro decks have is they play there entire hand in the first couple of turns but with the card draw this deck has it gets ride of this issue.

Besides consistency issues the deck does have one other problem. You need certain creatures to remain on the board for there effects such as Renegade Krasis and Crowned Ceratok. So burn and kill cards can really mess you up. That's what the side board is built around. When siding out cards what you should take out is Ordeal of Thassa. Paying the mana to put this on a card just to have it killed next turn is not worth it.

This deck is super cheap. form the ground up should cost about $30 but if you already have some of the cards then you could get the deck for under $10. The most expensive card is Misscutter Hydra but please don't skimp out on the card its so wroth it.

That's it for my guide hope you enjoyed it. I'm going to make a high end competitive Simic deck guide soon so keep a look out for that. Please rate this guide and comment I'd love to hear suggestions on the deck or how its working for you guys. Hope the spelling mistakes went to bad. Peace out!
