Here is my attempt at making a Standard-competitive Elfball! This is the first deck that I made and invested in, and would appreciate feedback. Especially looking for feedback on the sideboard.
Under optimal conditions, this deck can swing for 26 damage on turn 3:
T1: Forest, Elvish Mystic
T2: Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Burning-Tree Emissary, Burning-Tree, tap Nykthos for GGGGG,
Kalonian Hydra
T3: Land, Nykthos float 7, Mystic floats 1, play a 7/7 Mistcutter Hydra, swing with the team for 26 damage, 8 of which is trampling and 14 is pro-blue. Pretty sweet?
This deck obviously uses devotion as its biggest engine. Although the Mystics/Satyrs/Caryatids provide stable mana, it's the devotion that racks up that makes the deck explode. Nylea, God of the Hunt makes all of your other huge creatures trample over, and
Arbor Colossus
provides reach and three devotion.
The blue side of this deck, although just a splash, really speeds things up. Four
Prophet of Kruphix
, meaning if she is in play, you can swing out every turn and not have to worry about having no blockers. It's also pretty nasty when you flash in a Colossus of Akros at the end of their turn, begin your turn, and activate its monstrosity effect. The three instants in the deck are Simic Charm, which go perfectly here. The Charm's biggest asset to this deck is the fact it gives all permanents under your control hexproof, stopping their spot removal. Its other two uses are also very good, pumping a creature and bouncing a creature to its owner's hand.
The biggest weakness of this deck, I feel, is Anger of the Gods. It wipes all creature mana sources except for Karametra's Acolyte, In that case, boarding in Dissolve may prove helpful.
Any questions/comments are greatly appreciated. Remember that this is my first deck here, and also the first one I invested in. Thank you!
