My friend and I like to make cheap creature oriented decks and play against eachother.
This is an idea for one of those.
My current method of getting lands into play is:
Turn 1: Forest +
Skyshroud Ranger
Turn 2: Island/Forest + Tap
Skyshroud Ranger
to put a utility land or basic into play
Then Explore or Growth Spiral to get even more land. If I manage to chain Explores/Growth Spirals I can
end up with 5 land in play by the end of turn 2.
Then by Turn 3 I can
Zendikar's Roil
or refuel with
Urban Evolution
Getting lands:
In play:
Circuitous Route
(might switch back to
Cultivate
because of 3 mana cost and syngergy with
Skyshroud Ranger
),
Skyshroud Ranger
,
Animist's Awakening
, and I might add a few
Llanowar Scout
's.
In hand:
Dryad Greenseeker
,
Growth Spiral
,
Explore
,
Memorial to Genius
,
Urban Evolution
,
Arch of Orazca
,
Pull from Tomorrow
.
Win Conditions:
Elemental army from
Zendikar's Roil
+
Animist's Awakening
or just the other ramp in the deck.
Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar
Fun of;
Liege of the Tangle
Fun of.
Creature Lands:
Treetop Village
.
Considerations:
Undergrowth Champion
a bit pricey for the deck's budget,
Sylvan Advocate
,
Biomass Mutation
with my elemental army,
Tatyova, Benthic Druid
I tried this already but I didn't find it as useful as you'd think,
Switching out
Circuitous Route
for
Cultivate
and also removing the guildgates
I'm not sure card:Pull from Tomororw is the right card draw in this deck. I don't like the double blue on it. Maybe switch to something like
Brainstorm
Lands:
I'm not sure if 30 lands is the right about for this deck, but it seems pretty ok.
I think 9 tap lands is too many, not sure how many this deck will keep.
The
Treetop Village
's seem like overkill, but I like them
