@ chaosumbreon87 If you want to go for the lolz Hedron Crab with Rite of Replication and/or Iceberg Cancrix , Rite of Replication , and changing out all the basics to be snow basics.

This deck is really cool, I also have a Kruphix combo edh with a pretty similar budget but the land sub-theme seems quite powerful. Personally I run Planar Bridge over portal, but the portal strat is something I want to try myself. I'd pretty highly recommend Rhystic Study especially if your meta is fast enough for Mystic Remora. Have you considered Green Sun's Zenith or Chord of Calling?

@ williamslade You should try Planar Portal. If I were you I would recommend running Genesis Wave Seedborn Muse, and Alchemist's Refuge / Leyline of Anticipation alongside it as well as a lot of interaction in the deck. Portal gives the option of interaction/flexibility where as Bridge costs less mana over all for big things. I personally prefer portal hands down.

I have considered Rhystic Study but I've found my meta is fairly responsible for paying for the . Also I have found the deck has a lot of other things it would rather be doing once I reach 3 mana. Don't get me wrong Rhystic Study is a powerful card. I've just not had good luck with it in this deck.

I used to run Green Sun's Zenith but it got cut for Finale of Devastation as finale can get blue creatures, recur creatures, pump creatures, and give haste. I'm not running enough creatures for Chord of Calling's upside of tapping creatures to be worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for taking a look at my deck and providing feedback!!!

I'm a new player who just got the budget version for now. How do you feel about Ashaya, Soul of the Wild?

@ ballin2much sorry for the slow reply.

As far as Ashaya, Soul of the Wild goes:

The upside is that It makes your field a little bit more resistant to board wipes as board wipes that say nonland are less effective. It also makes early utility creatures tap for mana to add to your mana pool earlier for a bigger Genesis Wave latter on.

The downside to me is that Ashaya says non token. But even if it included tokens by the time you would be generating absurd amounts of mana you probably want to be turning your creatures sideways to attack. In my personal opinion I am not running enough small utility creatures to make it worthwhile. But my best recommendation is to try it out in your deck and see what you think. Just proxy it at first if you don't own it $10 is a bit much for just testing out a card.

Other than the token Mana Drain or Force of Will over Counterspell , which I'm sure is for budget reasons, could you explain to me how Uro fits into your strategy other than being an additional way to cheat out one additional land? I think i read your entire primer and i didn't see where he fit in. Sorry if i missed it...

AwesomeOctopus

Thank you for the compliment. I have had a lot of fun altering the cards. Right now things are busy for me. I hope I can get back to altering more of them soon.

Scytec

Yes if you were to make this list more competitive switch Counterspell for Mana Drain and Voidslime (although being able to counter an activated ability did win me a game one time) for Force of Will and cut a land to add Mana Crypt . Also if your meta is artifact heavy Collector Ouphe and Null Rod should find a place in this deck.

Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath is run because he is repeatable card draw, life gain, and landfall. Which fits everything the deck is trying to do. He replaced Coiling Oracle which I think is a strict upgrade. As newer cards get printed he is something I would consider cutting if the newer cards synergize with the deck more then he does.

Weirdest Lands Matter Archetype I've seen yet but I respect it and it looks awesome both art wise and to play. Some general Lands Matter considerations may be Glacial Chasm, Thespian's Stage and Dark Depths as they're usually the "stars of the show". They're also heavily dependent on land recursion though

@MilesHiles Thank you for checking out the deck and for the compliments. Also thanks for the suggestions. I do feel like they fit a bit better in Lord Windgrace. You did however start me thinking about Field of the Dead, Thespian's Stage, and Vesuva. I'm not sure I can get away with field with only being two color. It might be worth testing.
