Swarmyard could be a very cost-effective way to keep that Hornet Nest a-comin'. Also, Gavony Township could be a thing for you. That, in turn, would make Abzan Battle Priest quite beneficial.

Swarmyard is AMAZING! Thanks for the suggestion! It's also damn pricey, but I'll try to fit it in!

Gavony Township + Abzan Batle Priest looks decent, but often it's over already by the time my hornets get a +2/+2 from Obelisk. I'll try them out though, see how I like them.

I like where this deck is going, but I'm not very good at making budget decks. My main recommendation would be to put Brave the Sands mainboard, because it is insanely powerful with death touch creatures.

I kept BTS mostly in the side because it's necessary against creature swarm, I have plenty of sacrificial tokens against decks with few creatures. Besides, deathtouch only works when creature deals damage, so since the tokens only have 1 damage each, they could only deathtouch one creature, and block the other one without killing (without buffs of course). Thanks for the comment though!

Gods Willing > Ranger's Guile ; because it acts as a hexproof and indestructible by giving protection. Combine that with Brave the Sands and you're Hornet Nest can block 2 guys, take all the damage and live, plus give you that many tokens to wreak havoc with.

Soul Warden looks sublime in this deck and I really wish she was a spirit so I could use her in mine too!

The blend of death-touch and life-gain is cohesive and solid. It looks like a fun deck to play with, which is my measure of giving a +1, which you fully deserve.

Hmm, that's not true. Protection prevents all damage dealt so there would be no token generation :( I put in Ajani's Presence instead, the indestructible helps out a great deal and there damage is applied, nest just doesn't die from it.

The +1/+1 from ranger's guile is necessary for when I swap in Brave the Sands, as deathtouch also only works when I apply damage to something, if I only have 1 damage to spread over 2 targets for each token, only 1 would die. Since ajani's now also gives that buff, I can just keep Gods willing in the sideboard for when more protection is necessary against exile.

That way, the sideboard covers everything I can come up with that my friends play :)

Thanks a lot for the appreciation :)

Also, I would add 1-2 more Archetype of Courage . First strike AND Deathtouch is a winning combination.

Added an extra archetype while I was shifting stuff around, I've found that I drew it too little, thanks for the suggestion!

Been running this deck recently for modern events with a few minor tweaks. Dropped the two Hornet Queen to the sideboard, added Rhox Faithmender, too. Also, dropped a Soul Warden and Essence Warden and added two Emmara Tandris and two Wayfaring Temple and ended up winning a bit more. Really nasty combos.

Brave the Elements > Gods Willing; why not target all of your guys instead of just one?

Path to Exile; I'd recommend at least a couple in the SB, as an answer to indestructible.

Loxodon Smiter > Brave the Sands; I don't see much control protection, is there a dearth in your meta? BtS lets you block another but usually your bugs won't be terribly big and they'll be blocking a bigger guy, so they'll die before they can block another. That's my take at least.
