Me and Dynavolt Tower are back, only this time in grixis. Before we get any farther into this deck list let me explain I am building this for post rotation. Any suggestion of cards that leave when is Alan comes in won't happen because I don't want to retool when that comes out next. Also this deck is trending more so away from the burn version to a straight up controlling version. I know gearhulks are important, but so is money for bills. I will update the list if not tomorrow then probably Saturday with fnm results.

So I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was going to be replacing Take Inventory with Shock. I want to feel like the deck was much better and felt smoother than it had a couple weeks ago, but something still feels off. Here's the results and things I noticed.

Round 1: mono black eldrazi? 2-0 this isn't the typical version of the deck, at least I don't think it is. You of course get your blighted fens and aether hubs to be able to cast your colorless guys and colored spells. Game 1 I kept 7 he went to 5. I was able to resolve 2 towers so from then on each spell was 4 energy and I was able to keep him under the couple of times he whiffed on thought-knot was also helpful. Game 2 was much closer than game 1 as I kept 7 he kept 6. I had sided in my 4 niblis and 3 negate since he had a lot of hand attack in mind rots and collective brutalities. He had sided out most of his removal keeping a few number of them in for the fumaroles. He tried to lost legacy me on turn 3, but forgot he couldn't name the tower. From then on I resolved a tower with a couple void shatters as backup and fumarole put in a lot of work.

Round 2: temur aetherworks 0-2 I got paired up agains a friend who usually ran u/r emerge. He ended up running a temur aetherworks with ulamog. Needless to say this game was rough I drew 17 lands game 1 and still managed to make it a tight game. Game 2 more of the same although he kinda started going off in game 2 really early and ulamog early is kinda just game. He resolved marvel, spin into ulamog the turn before I drew negate and ceremonious rejection.

Round 3: jeskai control no combo. 0-2 I'll come right out and say that I did mess up game 1, but it's hard to win a game when a nahiri resolves and they get nahiri with gearhulk, flash it in after they had returned it and then play another one. Especially when your trying to hold off a Gideon. Game 2 my niblis died almost immediately each time it came out.

Round 4: same mono white humans deck 2-0. Deck flowed nice and smooth. Shock made that matchup even easier than before. It was an easy 2-0 for me. Sideboarded in a little extra early protection with thing in the ice.
